I want one of these so bad. My RG353P plays GBA perfectly, but the aesthetic of this one strictly for GBA titles is great.

I love my RG35xxSP but since my first gaming device ever was the horizontal GBA, I picked this one up as well. The SP is a little cramped for some games for me so I'm looking forward to how comfortable this model is to play

I'm really loving your handheld reviews lately. Ended up ordering 3 rg35XXsp for my kids last night. I've seen all the reviews on it for months, (rgc, etc) but your passion and focus on the way the device makes you feel.......👌🏽

I'm all FPGA now, however when I travel around I still carry my Anbernic 350P with me. The Anbernic devices are in my opinion the best non-FGPA dedicated retro handhelds, especially those that run on Linux based operating systems make for a very pleasent gaming experience. They are also fairly inexpensive, which is nice in case I'd ever lose or badly beat mine up, as it would be very easy to replace.

This guy is so tempting, they're definitely poking at my love of the GBA...I just don't NEED another handheld right now 😂

This machine has a customized 3.4-inch screen, and it actually has screen flickering. You heard it right, the LCD screen has screen flickering.

Hello there, thank you so much for this video. I still own a TrimUI Smart Pro and don't have that much money to buy me a new device every month. But maybe the RG34xx I will try it. By the way nice Channel. Wish you all the best from Germany

I wish it was bigger so your thumb doesn’t smudge the screen constantly, but they were cloning the original form, I get it.

I bought a classic GBA last year for the nostalgia. Thankfully it's easy to get good lightbulbs in the modern era so you can see the damn screen lol. Carpal Tunnel is easily avoided by lifting and massaging your hands frequently

Start with the miyoo mini plus and then you can choose to keep going with something different: clamshell, horizontal, more raw power, etc. 😊

Ok serious question - I have been thinking about ordering this because GBA was pretty big for me stuck on trains commuting to London earlier in my career. BUT, I have an Analogue pocket, which is 7x the resolution. I have the Flipzizzle as well (35xxsp). Didn't realise until the end of the vid you ALSO have the Analogue pocket and I know from previous vids you also have the FlipZIzzle. So I guess, my point and question - do you really think this is going to get the use you think it will? The AP is without doubt more "real" than the others. The FlipSizzle is without doubt far far more convenient (shut to save and close, open to resume). What are you thoughts there sir?

I think it really depends on your nostalgia for the OG Game Boy Advance. It's pretty inexpensive when you compare it to the Pocket. The Pocket is amazing but of course no custom firmware allowed on that device.
@joepage5000Күн бұрын
As someone who doesn’t take their expensive handhelds out and about with me, you also might want to consider that taking this around everywhere , possibly dropping it, losing it, etc is a lot less of a bummer than something happening to your Analogue Pocket.
@FabuBrik21 сағат бұрын
you're not asking me, but I was going through a similar thought exercise. For me, popping in a cartridge is part of the nostalgia so pocket is a no brainer. Even though I missed the SP time and have no nostalgia for it, I would go for it over the 34xx just because of the clamshell and 4:3 works better for most systems.
@frooglepete19 сағат бұрын
Thanks Clayton, @Joepage5000 and @Fabubrik for your thoughts. Solid point on the expense and real/emotional cost that would come with damaging or losing the AP. On the other hand, and I've no idea how I missed this before, I fired up the AP last night after most question and took a look at the OpenFPGA cores (Normally I use the standard cores for GB/GBA etc etc). Anyway, turns out that in recent updates the GB, GBA, GameGear and others got Sleep!!!! I also just noticed in the OpenFPGA GB core at least we now have fast forward as well! These are game changers. I always favoured the emulation devices because of sleep, save states and fast forward, but with more openfpga cores (handheld ones anyway) getting these three features combined, that really really muddies the waters a lot. Sure the cost/risk issue with the AP is real....that's an interesting thing to ponder though isn't it. Perhaps a video idea at some point - the big win for software emulation was always features not available on hardware emulation, but that landscape appears to be changing (slowly)

Hey Clayton, I was curious if you ever had the chance to play black and white 2 & black white 2 battle of the gods? It was made and developed by lion head studios. If you like or love strategy games I think you will get a kick out of that series!
