Just got one of these for my son away at college. At the time is was $21 on Amazon. I already have a more advanced ad410. But for my son the simple ad310 will do just fine.

Saved me $1,800! Check engine light came up about a month before I needed to go through DEQ. 2 mechanics told me it was my catalytic convertor. I researched my vehicle and this specific Mitsubishi will get a P0420 code from gas/gas cap issues. Found out my mom put regular gas in my car. I ran the gas out, filled with Premium, put in gas treatment. Turned code off. Code cleared, got through DEQ.

Thanks for this video. I purchased this on amazon but your link didn’t send me there. This scanner awas able to tell me which coil pack was bad. I figured it out by the “Process of elimination,” but I could not erase the code. I had the Logworks Innovate Motorsports WiFi scanner but they discontinued the updates on an expensive ODBII reader. Not even an old app is available. No mor WiFi products for me especially if a company is going to decide on discontinuing it’s updates.

I just recently purchased a AD310 it works great on all the other cars in my driveway. But I have a 2003 Chevy Cavalier the AD310 won't even power up when I plug it in to the diagnostics block. Any idea what the problem could be?

Yes it will work but depends on what trouble code you have. It will read most common codes to help troubleshooting.

If you erase codes when would they pop back up? I have a feeling i bought a truck that had the engine light turn on a week after i bought it and the owner might of turned off the check engine light. The truck passed smoged and was clean title

It depends on what the code is for. Smog test only tests emission components. If there is an issue with the engine (not emission related), the car can still pass Smog but continue having the issue. If the person simply cleared the code without fixing the issue, the CEL light can come back on after several drive cycles.

@@kevinbr3197 I know it’s been a year, but I think I can answer your question. It’s not illegal for a private seller to clear the codes then sell. I do believe that dealers aren’t allowed to clear codes before selling you a car. If you’re buying a used car, take one of these with you and you can look up and see if anyone has deleted any codes. I would recommend never buying a used car without one of these. I’m about to buy an old beat up Mazda and I’m using this to check the condition before I buy

I wanted to know WHERE to look up WHAT EACH CODE MEANS. You did not tell that info. I STILL DON'T KNOW. Also when you push a button on the device, it looks like you are pushing a button in upper right corner (there is no button there). You are just holding device down, but it looks like you are trying to push a button.
