Anchor bolts are also referred to as L bolts and usually placed within 12 inches of break in the bottom framing plates.

You saved me a faux pau (f** up) my concrete guy mis-calulated for a six foot slider and put and almost put an anchor bolt in the center of the slider. I corrected it 6 hrs before the pumper and concrete truck showed up. Thanks for sharing. You saved me a head ache 👍

Hi. Can you please make a video on how to place anchor bolts and hold downs in an interior load bearing wall with a foundation 1ft wide and 2ft deep. Because exterior walls have support on the peripheral boards where you can attach the bolts but the interiors do not.

It seems like drilling and epoxying isn’t such a bad way to go. The cost doesn’t seem to be prohibitive, especially when considering the time and headache required to lay out, set, pour and finish around protruding anchor bolts.

Yes, it can be expensive, especially if you have to rent the tools.

when building a garage can the anchor bolt be longer in length, allowing it to anchor to both the sill plate and wall plate in order to strengthen and stabilizing the wall as well

What about anchor bolts for the interior walls that are not load bearing/ shear walls. Do the interior walls also need anchor bolts or can they be installed with a ramset?

As long as they aren't structural walls, then yes you can use any type of fastening system like a ramset. On new concrete I've actually driven them in with a hammer before like you would a nail.

Anchor bolts usually need to be located with in 12 inches from the edge of the framing plates.

This is gonna sound dumb but do you anchor only outside walls or inside walls too?

Usually anchor bolts are used around the perimeter and for interior structural shear walls and pins or other fasteners are used on the other interior walls.
