Love your videos, NYC sailor here. You look like a happy couple, be good to each other and enjoy your time out on the water!! Keep the videos coming.

Keep your mainsail uncovered, and halyard hooked up whenever you are underway- even while (especially while!) motoring-- you may need it in a big hurry if your engine quits in a bad spot. Just my 2cents worth. The only time I cover up my main is when I'm tied to a dock, I even leave it off when I'm at anchor in case I end up dragging and the motor won't start. Granted, I live in BC where the UV isn't the issue it would be in the tropics...

No shit!! Finally got it my first communication with a star. I am just so happy that at 75 years I am learning. Enjoy your productions,very much, laughed out loud at the "inner tube dinghy" been there, you made the trip with class. As a non-graduate of Warwick Vet's--I salute you----thanks murph.

Love your Vito's. Reliving the trip I did in 1997, on a 27 ft Watkins. Took my time 2 1/2 mos. I left from Brant Rock,in late Aug., so I was not being chased by cold weather. Now live in Naples,Fl. Save sailing, and enjoy. Pat

Good to see a new video! My wife and i are moving onto our boat that's docked now in ft lauderdale January 2nd. We are doing the same thing you are, were 28 years old and quit our jobs to go sailing.. Maybe we'll see you in Florida when you get down there.

We'll be in Ft. Lauderdale by then. My brother recently hopped on the boat with Kate and I and were going to be traveling fast these next 2 weeks. He has a flight in Ft. Lauderdale so we gotta make it! I'm sure we'll see each other

You guys must get an autopilot. It will make your trip soon much more comfortable. Oriental, NC has a used marine goods store and may have one cheap. Or eBay of course. It is like having another set of hands on board. Looking forward to the next video! Very entertaining, thanks

Dead air is boring, but the plus side was your smooth-as-glass water in the ocean. I've never taken my little 25-footer offshore, but it looks like I could have done it that day. You mentioned that ebb in the canal started at 13:06, and it's too strong to go against it. I guess you figured out that in the canal, ebb flow goes west, so it's with you not against you. Based on that timing, you probably got to sleep in the next day. :-) I have a buddy who got it backwards once and ended up opposing the peak current the whole time through the canal. It was a VERY LONG ride. I passed him unexpectedly since I was going the other way, and I was like, WTF! He was the ONLY sailboat going the other way that day. lol

Thank you for all your nice videos... I really appreciate it,. . Regarding the anchor.. I use to have a rope tied to the anchor schakle besides the chain. This will give you the possibility to use your conventional winches as an anchor windlass.

Pull into the Brigantine Cove next time you are in Atlantic City. The current is mad strong in the inlet, the cove is a really nice place to chill out.

So fun to see you improve in your skills. Have you tried to coil a line on the deck for your pooch to use as a toilet? Then you just kick it overboard, tied on of course. No! not the pooch!! the line!
@WickedSalty9 жыл бұрын
I bet the coiled line would works, she always goes on absorbent things and piled up lines.

Looks like you guys didn't stick around AC for very long lol. If you ever end up there again there's a great anchorage to the right when you're entering Absecon inlet just before rum point. There's a little sheltered lagoon that actually has some moorings and plenty of space to anchor. It's a little tight getting in and out, but I've seen a bunch of big-ass boats chillin in there so I think you guys could make it.
