I really don’t see this as the Top 100 objectively greatest movies, I see this as a fascinating look into the host’s personal tastes. I’ve discovered lots of great movies through this and rediscovered some favorites I haven’t seen in a while. Keep up the good work guys!

I love this movie, it’s so weird differently I saw it, though. Completely different takes on exactly what was funny and, more importantly, WHY they were funny. This movie deserves to be on the list, and I’ll tell you why. Anchorman kickstarted an entire comedy sub-genre that dominated both the cinema AND home video market over the next ten years. Every single actor in this film became a household name, if they weren’t already, and the movie was an instant re-watch, in an era where re-watches would DOMINATE dorm rooms and apartments across the country. Every comedy that followed, and was successful, has Anchorman in its DNA and that alone puts it on the list.

The best part about Anchorman is how it beautifully portrayed and lampooned Male Fragility and the barriers women in the workforce face. And the worst part is how everyone seems to have forgotten that part in favor of the quotable quotes. (the quotes are awesome but that's besides the point) A full 10 years after this movie skewered Patriarchy we got Gamergate, and another 10 years after that we lost the right to Abortion and men were still flaming out hard when movies like Barbie made mild intro feminist critiques.

it should speak to the ubiquity of the movie that i actually haven't seen it, but i can both recognize and recite quotes from it. if ghostbusters is the most quotable comedy from the 80s, anchorman is the equivalent for the 00s

Will Some Like it Hot be on here? Pepe le Moko? Rififi? Passion of Joan of Arc? Nosferatu? Or are just running with things that we could watch on cable? This is a sham of a list.
