The journey of Faxian is one of the most incredible in human history. By foot, he traveled from his home in central China to the far away land of India - where he encountered a surprisingly tolerant society, some truly ancient ruins and the first recorded hospital.

@Washington Clinton Turks themselves accepted Islam for local peoples support when they came under Genghis Khan they accepted the religion of the place they governed and never cared about religion. The yuan dynasty in China was Buddhist but they didn't show mercy to anyone. And as for Spain it was conquered by Umayyad dynasty who were imperialist and abolished the political system of Islam and even in Spain they didn't persecute anyone and a fact that Jewsish cultural golden age started under Muslim rule of Spain and Christians were also tolerated. And u tell me if Hindus were persecuted why even today Hindus are a majority in most of India. Why r there Christians in Egypt when it was continuously ruled by Muslims for 1400 years. And also Arab Jews and Christians. Afghan Jews and Christians until now.

ШИРИШ India may not have been politically one unit, but then the concept of a nation state itself is a relatively recent one and no nation including the European ones did existed until recently(relatively). But India as an idea is very ancient one. The identity 'Indian' is also an ancient one and a civilizational one like a Greek or a Chinese. There are ample proofs for this like the details of what is Bharath (India) and who is a Bharathiya(Indian) as given in Garuda Purana, Shankaracharya setting up four mutt's in four corners of the country, shaktipeeta's spread across India, the Concept of chakravartin, or all the dynasties originating in the subcontinent claiming decendence from either from suryavamsha or chandravamsha and so on.

The reason why it was like this is because the Han Chinese considered themselves superior to others (Similarly how Aryans consider themselves superior). Now this was actually valid from a certain point of view as the Chinese were far advanced compared to other civilizations, and never really cared about outside world(Except maybe for the Ming). This would actually come to strike them in the back after 19th century, a era which is referred in their history as "The century of humiliation" which lasted from 1849 to 1949.

6:47 "Every year on the 8th day in the 2nd month, they celebrate a procession of images" I believe this is a description of Shiva Ratri (the night of Shiva) Faxian is likely using the Chinese calendar when speaking to his Chinese audience. The equivalent day on the Hindu calendar would be the 8th day of the bright fortnight in the month of Phalguni. This is five days before Shiva Ratri, one of the largest Hindu festivals. It may be processions of the various deities of Pataliputra began in the week leading up to the festival. Faxian further describes continuous overnight worship at 7:35. He describes this as happening all throughout India, which it still does to this day on Shiva Ratri.
@ssam00
@ssam00 4 жыл бұрын
It could be other festivals too. There are many calendars in India and Phalgun is not the second month in many of those. It could be Durga Puja/ Navaratri which happens on literally the 8th day of the waning lunar fortnight in Ashwin (September-October) or, as per older traditions, in Chaitra (March-April). Processions remind one of Ratha Yatra. It can also be some ancient festival now forgotten or celebrated differently

While in Pataliputra, Fa Xian observed a festival during which the people built gigantic four-wheel wagons and then built towers on them that were five storeys high. They then covered the towers in fine white linen and decorated them with canopies of embroidered silk. He says that the people placed idols of their gods within these structures and images of the Buddha on the corners of the wagons. On the day of the festival, twenty such wagons would be pulled through the city in a grand procession. Devotees from everywhere, ranging from the royal family to the poor, were part of the festivities. They offered prayers and flowers to the gods and lit lamps in the evening. The whole city became like a fair ground with amusements and games. On this day, the rich made generous donations to the poor and physicians even held free health clinics for them. This shows how the marxists made up fake enmity between Buddhists and Sanatana Dharmiks.

About onions... Onions and garlic are not considered "satvic" food along with non vegeterian food alcohol etc.., means these foods are not helpful in attaining spritual enhancement and moksha/nirvana.. The ultimate spritual state in hinduism, jainism and buddhism.. Even present day many temples don't cook food containing these,also some hingher caste brhamanas in india dont take those, also jains.

Indians have low immunity - with common difficiency of vitamin D (what comes with darker skin affecting weaker sun exposure to create vitamin D in body, but also not eating meat, but i hope they eat fish at least) and vitamin B12. This combined with aversion to eat the best natural antibiotic - garlic, and imunity boosting onions doesn't sound good in face of the global viral corona infection. At least they aren't obese as Americans what saves them a bit.

Many hostile ethnic groups in the same region have long histories of invading, warring, backstabbing, g€nociding, & selling each other out to Parasitic Foreigners so their group can dominate. Happened with the Scottish in Ireland, the Mughals, the British Raj, the Tutsi, the Manchus, the Tagalogs, the Balkan groups like the Serbs, & many many others around the world. Its still happening today.

It might have something to do with the availability of royalty free musics. Royalty free musics have limited libraries and are usually very generic sounding. Most professionally recorded chants or traditional music need copyright clearance/permission to use and they cost a lot. Even simply grabbing music from, say, other KZbin videos or your CDs, to use in your video is considered copyright infringement. Smaller or personal channels might get away with using copyrighted music but channels that wish to grow know to avoid them for the risk of copyright claims.

China has always been a big and relatively populous region with an incredibly long history, so it's not surprising that there have been some really larger-than-life culture heroes there- Anyone will land more bullseyes throwing a thousand darts than throwing ten. But they didn't have a monopoly on that. For example, Rome famously had Marcus Aurelius, who was both an emperor and a scholar, and doggedly humble.

Why is nobody talking about 6:03 where he mentions that the massive yet beautiful" Royal Palaces and intricate art work in the massive hall ways across the various cities were created / made BY SPIRITS which were employed / controlled by these mighty kings . These SPIRITS piled up and lifted the stones which weighed anywhere from 1 ton to 50 sometimes even 100 tons with ease and also created beautiful artwork and sculptures which are impossible even today with means of all the technology at our disposal we still cannot carve hard rocks and stones into beautiful sculptures that one sees in the temples of Khajuraho, Ajanta Ellora or the maasive sky high temples of the south. There was some kind of alien technology being used here and the monks called them "SPIRITS" which these mighty hindu kings had but sadly all that has been destroyed by the Mughals earlier & whatever was left the British Empire destroyed it. No wonder neither the Mughals nor the British structures have any kind of intricate and highly detailed sculptures in any of their monuments the likes of which are seen in these Indian palaces & temples even today. Even the Taj Mahal considered to be one of the 8th wonders of the world Does Not have a single detailed sculpture and pales in comparison to the thousands of hindu temples across the length and breadth of India. Look at the Dilwara Temples , Khajuraho , temples in the north & south. The Mughals could never understand / master / achieve those technologies or control them so they destroyed them and the rest what was left of the mightiest and richest nation in the world was pillaged and plundered by the British EAST INDIA CO & Royals for more than 200 years. India never Invaded or attacked any other nation till date and still it was the most powerful. Scholars like these chinese monks would travel from far and wide across the world to India for its teachings at Nalanda which was the university of the world ! All destroyed by the Mughals.

@masterdeetectiv9520 Mughals were homeless since they settled here. However, Mahmood Gaznavi, etc. before them and Nadir Shah after them only looted us. British finished us because they used our agro-economy to serve their colonial ambitions. Until then, India had never known any famines. For the most notorious of them, the Bengal Famine, which killed millions of Indians, only one person is solely responsible: WINSTON CHURCHILL!!!
