Go ahead y'all ,feel proud to fantasize and get excited about worshipping other people's disgusting sh!t filled body organs. What's wrong with this generation. If you are a perv then go be one, don't force your philosophy on others. Sex was only legal for procreation or else it's just molesting someone and getting excited about sadistically using and abusing someone who's obviously going to give consent because of some reason or the other. Just because someone "consented" to something doesn't make it legal. Consensual torture isn't legal. Watching pornography and objectifying another human body is worse than any animals. No animals do that although we don't usually take moral lessons form animals . We don't know what situation made that pornstar do such a thing, maybe they're were forced coerced or threatened by pimps. I cannot believe the raging jealousy of disbelievers. Just because religion teaches you to be a little humans and respect yourself doesn't make it a horrific crime. What's horrific is the amount of rape that's happening around the world. What's horrific is women being trafficked into sex rings, what's horrific is mothers of children forced out of poverty and turn to selling their bodies and acting like pigs fornication to please her viewers, horrific is all the women and young boys who get sexually assaulted and their abuser makes them watch sexually deviating videos and movies while abusing them. Horrific is Hollywood actresses who step father abused them and now constantly watches their sex scene which they were forced to shoot out of hunger and homelessness. Everything related with sex is selfish disgusting demeaning and horrific . And the audacity of people to praise sexual activities after witnessing all the abuse sex got people into!?

19:08 When I was growing up catholic I was so ashamed of anything related to sex, that I actually prayed gor god to take my sexual organs away so that I would never be tempted to sin again. I remember reading that verse and wanting to castrate myself, but not not being "brave enough" to do it (which made me feel more guilty). I lived in constant fear of going to hell, and I hated myself. Now that I don't believe I can still see the consequences of growing up like this

This is religious trauma. I suffered the same. All theists have it to some degree. You can't introduce these bits of insanity to little children without causing them trauma. I would suggest you domsome research on trauma. Parents who feel it fine to harm children in this way often do it in other ways. Giving us Complex Post Traumtic Stress Disorder. A complicated form of PTSD that results from traumatizing a mind that has no defense against it and coming from the people who are supposed to keep them safe. Please look it up.

There are some, debated, sources that suggest there may have been Christian groups who actually did castrate themselves. Some would say that was the depth of their devotion, but I think it's just fanaticism and, well, crazy. This is why I hate sex being seen as something "sinful". Sex is just a thing that exists. You can either do it or not depending on how you feel. I was raised Catholic but I was just a child when I thought to myself, "None of this God stuff makes sense. I'll go to church because my mom will make me, but when I turn 18 I'm walking away from this. It feels like a bunch of made-up bullshit and making people afraid for no good reason." Ugh, I even went through the whole Confirmation thing, which made me feel slimy as a non-believer. Having to stand there and pretend like I believed this was such a big deal, knowing it was only 2 years before I would turn around and walk away without ever looking back or second guessing for one moment. Good thing I don't believe in divine punishment because I'm pretty sure falsely proclaiming faith is something God would punish me severely for. All this to say, for any believers struggling with this, is that your body and its functions are just the way they are; nothing about it is sinful, problematic, or disgusting. Sex is an activity you can CONSENSUALLY take part in with any adult you want, within or without marriage. As long as everyone is willing and the rules are laid out in advance, and you use safer sex methods, go have fun. Life is made for living.

Nah the Jews were celibate even when they didn't think the coming of the kingdom of God was at hand in a few years, before Christianity. It didn't have anything to do with seeing no point in having babies. In fact, traditionally, Jewish marriage was all about being a step to starting a new family, which entails having sex and children. Having sex and producing children was a mitzvah too.

Considering disease as an intractable part of promiscuity... belies your influence from propaganda attempting to paint sex as bad when done casually. Don't you realise that everything EVERYBODY sees is sensationalised? Even the presentation of statistics? The situations behind the data points matter. That's why entire research papers are published to explain what the graphs mean, instead of just the infographics within them, because those do not show you enough about people's lives to make sense of their issues. God knew we were wack, but He decided He was still come down and help us, despite our unfaithfulness. most relationships (like friendships, romantic relationships) aren't like this. Very few, but not a whole lot. religion (Christianity) is just a relationship with God along with loving others (see james 1:27) also, we have various types of evidence that backs up the Bible. Here's one example: Scientists have discovered that the earth "skipped" a day. The Bible explains how that happened. In the book of Joshua, Joshua asked the sun to stop so he and the Israelites could defeat their enemies. Then in 2 Kings, King Hezekiah learned he was dying, and pleaded to God to not let him die. God sent a prophet to king hezekiah who said hezekiah would live. Hezekiah wanted a sign, and that would be for the sun to defy the law of inertia and go back 10 degrees. NASA confirmed it and did the math (look it up for more info). We also found Noah’s Ark hanging out in turkey, along with anchor stones marked with crosses signifying that it’s a revered place, along with altars and many other things. Look it up, it’s good stuff (HolyLandSite). more evidence for the Bible concerning cosmology and divine revelation in job 26:7, proverbs 8:27, Isaiah 40:22 (read on) The idea that the earth was round can be dated back to 600 BC in Greece. It was more widely accepted around the 3rd century (300 BC-201 BC) Note: time was “labeled” differently back then. for example, year 3000, year 420, year 69, year 0, year 1, year 2… and so on. Job 26:7: “. . .He [God] hangs the earth on nothing” The book of Job was supposedly written at 2100 BC. Proverbs 8:27: “. . .when He drew a circle on the face of the deep. . .” Proverbs was possibly written between 970 and 686 BC Isaiah 40:22: “it is He who sits above the circles of the earth. . .” Isaiah was written between 739 and 680 BC. This one doesn’t pertain to cosmology, but it refers to divine revelation nonetheless. Isaiah 11:15 “The Lord will dry up the gulf of the Egyptian sea; with a scorching wind he will sweep his hand over the Euphrates River. He will break it up into seven streams so that anyone can cross over in sandals.” Revelation 16:12 “The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.” How did they know about this? You tell me, my fellow Zoomerz. The Holy Spirit exists. I was suicidal for 9-ish months, but then I read John 3:16, and poof- the big sad went away in one night. Also, look up John Gabbana's (boonk gang) testimony. Dude did a lot of wacky stuff. He's changed now. Check out “Delafé Testimonies.” They got some good stuff as well *YOU CANNOT DENY THE WORK GOD DOES IN PEOPLE’S LIVES* also, the soul exists. someone i know (i won't say who- privacy reasons) saw their soul leaving their body. like pulling off a band-aid, except it doesn't hurt. There are also non-Christian sources who have confirmed the existence and divinity of Jesus, some of which were hostile towards Christianity, such as: Thallus (52 AD), who said Jesus lived, was crucified, and confirmed the darkness and earthquake that followed Christ’s crucifixion; Tacitus (56-120 AD), who called the followers of Christ Christians, confirmed that Jesus was crucified under Pontus Pilate’s command Talmud (400-700 AD), confirmed that the disciples were martyred for their faith, and confirmed Jesus was executed the day before the Passover, and said Jesus had “magical” powers Pliny the Younger (61-113 AD), who said that the Christians thought Jesus was/is God in the Flesh (God the Son) Phlegon (80-140 AD), who said Jesus had the ability to predict the future, and confirmed that Jesus was crucified during Caesar’s reign, confirmed Jesus rose from the dead, and confirmed He showed His wounds to confirm He was crucified. Celcus (175 AD), who said Jesus was born of a virgin, said His father is a carpenter, and confirmed Jesus had miraculous powers (See cold-case Christianity for more details) Here’s the physical evidence of Jesus and His Resurrection: 1) No persecution would have started if He hadn’t come back (the disciples thought Jesus would never resurrect) 2) The Roman soldiers would have paid with their lives if they failed at their jobs 3) there was a 2-4 ton rock that 11-12 guys would have to move (they didn’t have any help. Everyone said “crucify Him”) major L to those opposed to Jesus 4) there was a Roman seal which was a metal pin that sealed the tomb stone 5) Stealing the Jesus’s body isn’t something the disciples would do (besides Judas. Although he hung himself after feeling remorse for betraying Jesus). 6) the disciples wouldn’t die for what they knew would be a lie. (The lie being Jesus never made the ultimate comeback) faith and reason, people hit me up to learn more about how science proves the Bible or just about God in general

I think a virgin woman being one of the core aspects of a religion is one of the funniest things ever. Like, lets REALLY think about it. With no sperm, there only is half of the cromossomes and it's impossible for a human being to exist like that. So if we were ever able to do a DNA test in Jesus, we'd find the DNA of God. More importantly, we'd find what God's sperm is made of in terms of genetic material.

In fact, they went a generation further. They required that not only Mary-Jesus' mother-had to be a virgin and conceive Jesus without "sin" (i.e. sex), Mary herself had to have been conceived immaculately as well. @@nHans Also the word for virgin in the original Hebrew prophecy actually just means young single woman that’s of age, it can mean virgin but within the old Hebrew Scriptures any other time the word virgin is used they use a different word that only means virgin. This prophecy (which wasn’t even really a prophecy to do with the messiah in the first place) was read and interpreted by the writers of the virgin birth story to mean virgin, but the thing is the writer couldn’t actually speak Hebrew properly so it was probably just a mistranslation in an attempt to make a theological point/prove the legitimacy of Jesus by saying he fulfilled this prophecy (that wasn’t even a prophecy)

We are a sexually procreating species, this is morally right when used to create and raise a family together with your wife, there is an overwhelming abundance of evidence that this is the best outcome for raising healthy mentally balanced children that benefit society, sex outside of this structure is destructive and the West is crumbling under the weight of decadence and the insanity of multiple genders if you can’t see that then you haven’t cone to terms with anything.

Not as uncommon as one would hope. I was employed at a residential mental health facility in Michigan for two years. During my employment, one of the residents had cut off his own arm with a chainsaw, because he believed it would stop him from masturbating. Another resident amputated his own penis with the blade from a safety razor, because he felt that his penis was causing him to sin. I was a social worker for 30 years, serving people with severe and recurring mental illness. "Religiousity" is an extremely common factor in this level of mental illness.

The ancient greeks in question did, indeed, see love between men as superior to a man's love for a woman. Plato wrote about it specifically, actually, and that belief carried through through greco roman cultures. Because women are subhuman, it is a love that degrades you instead of elevates your soul to be closer to the divine. (Perhaps implied to be a chaste love depending on the author.)

Paul starts the paragraph with: You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. Seems what he was against was indulgence. The way I see it is that we all make decisions between what we desire and what is good and there are often in conflict. He doesn't specifically ask to ignore basic needs but to stay away from things like sexual immorality, debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, and envy; drunkenness, and orgies. On the other side, you're right: you would have to deny yourself on occasion to do the right thing. He didn't talk about hell in itself by but God’s wrath and condemnation because of sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, greed, anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy and filthy language. I don't know what exactly calls impurity but I don't see who can make it on that one and filthy language can be a lot of words.

I don't think there's good reason to believe Paul was totally honest about his views, personally. Lots of cult leaders preach sexual control for their followers while themselves having voracious sexual appetites. Given that he seems to be in constant conflict over the same sorts of things modern cult leaders tend to be in conflict over, I tend to lean towards him being... like your stereotypical cult leader. He's just been sanitized by the black box of history and the veneration of christians over the centuries.

@@rainbowkrampus Idk, he was implied to be vegetarian/vegan too, and that just adds to the trope 💀. Seriously though, with his positive views on divorce & the way he liberally said "I don't feel attracted to people, but y'all don't *have* to live like me. I think it'd be better, sure, but do what you want to." really makes it feel like he wasn't a cult leader. Heck, when folks started arguing about who's the leader between him and Peter, he said he wasn't a leader at all & no one should say "I follow Paul", but that they all follow Christ. He wasn't trying to control every Church he sent a letter to; rather he saw them more as longtime friends to email every once in a while while giving advice. But that's my interpretation. I know not all his opinions were based, but at least he was honest in that they were his opinions.

It's possible, or it's possible he was just a really committed Platonist who thought all materiality was icky, and sex would be the ickiest of all. You can see shades of this in Justin Martyr. I don't think Justin was asexual as such, but he was DEEPLY offended at the idea that God would have had sex with Mary in order to conceive Jesus and insisted repeatedly that this WASN'T what happened and it was NOTHING like the stories of Zeus doing the same thing. Justin was a huge Platonist and considered himself a philosopher, so it might not actually have anything to do with their own sexual preferences.

I mean you don't need to attribute ace characteristics to zealots. The shit they believe and accept is fucking wild. I don't think Paul would have been ace. I think he was just extremely (read: zealously impractically) devoted to the idea that everyone should devote themselves to following Jesus. If the writings we have are in fact representative of his beliefs. Also don't forget that the zealots were convinced that Jesus would return in their lifetime. The extant texts were never intended to apply to modern times because, in their belief, there should be no modern times. Jesus should already have returned and that should have been the end of any need for a book that teaches about god, since god should be here in the flesh to teach humanity himself. Also the homogenisation of Masoretic texts and extant new testament documentation was so far after their time that they probably could never have conceived of such a blending.

Definitely possible. As a prepubescent child I was functionally asexual, I thought sex was disgusting, and I didn’t understand why anyone would want to have sex if they weren’t having children. That led me to label any non-reproductive sex as deviant and the people who engaged in them were perverted. If I had remained asexual into adulthood, been in an insular religious community and not educated about human sexuality I may have held on to those beliefs.

I've thought for a long time now that the Adam & Eve story was a colloquial parable telling of the first sex act. The snake wasn't a snake; it was Adam's penis. He was asleep, she cuddled up to him and he got a stiffy, and she got an idea about what she could do with it. That first sexual act was "the forbidden fruit." It explains everything, including why they were now aware that they were naked, why God suddenly felt like a third wheel, why he kicked them out of his garden, and why he warned them about the hardships they were going to face. He wasn't cursing them, he was telling them what sex leads to: pregnancy, childbirth, hard work to support these children, etc.

Have you noticed this? The celibacy view contradicts with the homophobia in Abrahamic religions. After all, it is all about the concept of conception, right? Atleast in Islam, marriage is compulsory, thereby removing this paradox (apologetics focus on the paradoxes of other religions and forget theirs own 😅). But there are many sects, making this more confusing. Can you give a reason for why a celibate society be concerned about homosexuality?
@chagatainouveau
@chagatainouveau Жыл бұрын
@@ameennasar2583 It's probably more about shunning unusual sexual preferences than conception specifically, considering how paranoid about sex the religion's mores generally are. Islam is more internally consistent about this angle indeed, but it too reflects a shallow understanding of the utility and range of sexual activity, how being too restrictive impacts well-being, and compulsory marriage is oppressive in its own right. Islam also has very repressive mores about modesty and the status of women in marriage.

Also the concept of virginity (used to kill women who lose it too early and shame men who keep it for too long) is one of those leftovers and for the most part it's mostly a social construct (like gender) since there's little biological basis for it even though some still insist that the hymen is proof of it for women, in Catholicism many women were canonized as "holy virgins" and martyrs and some women still do the vow of consecrated virgin which is something between being a laywoman and a nun. I'm really starting to think the Catholic faith I was part of for most of my life is mostly leftovers from late antiquity and the early Middle Ages and I can see why this lifestyle may have been attractive to people back then, my problem is when many of these concepts are applied to the modern age and insist people today still follow it (a more messed up example is Maria Goretti who was canonized in the 1950's for basically dying before allowing herself to be violated by a guy who later repented, she was 11 when she was killed).

@@Lumberjack_king Are you okay with "holy" books then? Because it seems to me that a lot of them can easily be interpreted to be homophobic, and a neighbour who isn't in organized religion could easily believe that his god will hate and torture him forever if he expresses his love to another man in an enthusiastically consensual and phsyical way. And there is no way to show that his interpretation is wrong. If on the other hand you're in a toxic society that ridicules homosexuality, you can at least show that to be baseless and dysfunctional, and homosexuality to be perfectly healthy, and thus the norm to ridicule homosexuality to be backwards, and that the toxicity should be ridiculed instead. You can't do that with an unfalsifiable god who supposedly knows things we do not. Although I can show why for many reasons all god beliefs should be ridiculed and discouraged in that and other ways. For instance religious faith requires and encourages "justifying" beliefs with only fallacies and thinking errors because there is no rational justification for believing in (a) god(s) that is correct and healthy. That's abusive and extremely unhealthy to encourage and practice. It's just that if you accept or endorse any kind of god belief, you throw away all basis on which you can say that any interpretation is correct or false.

Unfortunately, many Christians aren't even educated on the views of sex and how they've changed over time in their own religion. So much so that videos that discuss the topic tend to piss them off. I did a video this year called: "Why the Fay", which discusses Morgana Le Fay's devolution from Goddess, to high priestess, to wanton femme fatale harlot in Arthurian literature via the spread of Romanized Christianity in the British isles, and boy it didn't go over well. I have issue with the last part of your post. 1) If you read the Old testament, God most definitely didn't have love for all people. And 2) In the new testament, Christ says he hasn't come to change a single thing regarding the Old testament laws (which includes stoning, and other punishments from the old testament. While modern Christians have altered their practices over the 2000 years, because of societal changes towards how things like war is done, how punishments are carried out (no cruel & unusual punishments, etc)......... These things have gotten better because we've become a more secular society, not because the bible commands it. Christians & Jews had to change their practices & message towards punishments, practices during war, etc. because we formed nations that exist under a rule of law. But you can see this paradigm also existing in islamic countries today. you can see a contrast between more secular islamic nations, and those existing under religious rule and following their religious teachings (stoning people over sexual practices, cutting off peoples hands for crimes, hanging or stoning people if they say something negative about Islamic religion.) Yet in more secular islamic countries, they range from following more modern secular punishments like jail, to doing lesser physical punishments (like public canning, or public execution that doesn't involve stoning, etc) They also get a trial in the legal system by a real judge in more secular nations, unlike religious ran states where they're just dragged into the street by family, neighbors, or village elders, to get stoned by the whole community. So I don't believe all the modern interpretations that "God is love", and other things that monotheists of Abrahamic religions tell me. Compared to other religions, from India, to Japan. The Abrahamic God is the most violent, most murdering, and wrathful God out of any other religions. The old testament has him commanding abortions, m@rdering babies by beating them against rocks, murdering whole town's killing all men, women, and children and only taking female child V!rgins as $ex slaves.

That is actually correct christian teaching, that is why the early and many modern Christian women wore head coverings, they are viewed as holy vessels. Interestingly enough, almost all teaching that show women as less than men comes from outside christian teaching.

People at the time did not realize the woman's role in reproduction. There really was no way of knowing. Sperm is obvious, an ovum isn't. So it was thought that the new life comes entirely from the man, and the woman is merely like fertile ground which the man 'sows'.

Repression of sexual desires makes a person more aggressive and quicker to anger. This was even mentioned in Orwell's 1984. In the book The Theory and Practice of Oligarchical Collectivism, Emmanuel Goldstein explains that sexual desire must be suppressed by the State, else the people will form bonds to each other that will be more powerful than their loyalty to the State. In addition, suppression of these natural desires will increase the person's aggression. This aggression can then be used by the State against the enemies of the state. Nineteen Eighty-Four was written in 1949 and even then the link between sexual repression and human aggression were already known. In Western Culture society began to relax the prohibitions against sex in the 1960's and 70's. And with that people were become more chill. Then in the late 1970's and early 1980's a new, deadly disease started showing up. It was known very early on that the disease was not only associated with sex, it was associated with *GAY* sex. Of course the American Evangelicals jumped on that right away, and they started saying it was a punishment from God even before it was officially called Aides. And that was the end of the sexual revolution. Now we have people flipping out and shooting at each other for such trivial reasons as "he cut me off." There is really only one reason to suppress your sexual desires. Sexually repressed people are easier for the government to control. I say fuck the government, and fuck your friends and neighbors. The former metaphorically and the latter literally.

@@paulchapman8023no, it has nothing to do with being trans. Eunuch in the three instances jesus outlines is essentially being useless to a woman for the purpose of procreation, whether by birth (gay), by human intervention (the modern understanding of castration making you a eunuch) and also by choice to put aside procreation to follow god. Now unless you are going to argue that jesus was saying people should castrate themselves to follow his path, especially as he himself was not castrated, then you can't use that meaning. Now there are stories like with Origen and how he castrated himself without anyone knowing but that's not how that works. Then you have the being useless from birth concept. You don't come out of the womb castrated and any medical understanding of the conditions one can be born with would be anachronistic knowledge for the time period. In fact where a woman failed to give birth or was considered barren, is most likely because of issues with the man and the woman wasn't barren at all. In those times though, fault always fell to a woman to justify a man's impotence. Nope, jesus is talking about being born gay and how gay men are useless for procreation because of the nature of their birth. As we know choice is such an important thing, so to are any aspects that make you useless for procreation. Now you can argue that gay men can still have sex and still procreate but that's a purely biological consideration and is contextually not what is being referred to.

Maybe it would help to reframe spirituality for you. I assume you want to become more spiritual because you feel it helps you in some way. In that case, is it more about belief, or rather ritual or meditative practice? I know lots of naturalists/atheists who practice rituals and meditation because it helps their mental heath. They practice spirituality without belief in the supernatural, because spirituality doesn’t have to only be about belief. I don’t want to prevent you from doing something that could help you, and I don’t think reason has to get in the way of spiritual practices meant to help your mind.

So when Paul says “sexual immorality” he just means sex? That’s crazy. See, I’ve only ever heard one biblical objection to sexual relationships with minors and it was sexual immorality. I thought it was a rather vague and open argument so that you use it for anything you don’t agree with (ie heterosexual anal sex). But if it just means sex, then virtually every evangelical Christian is wrong.
@nightshade7240
@nightshade7240 Жыл бұрын
There are no biblical objections to sexual relationships with minors. The verse that is so often touted as either about homosexuality or paedophilia is about neither. It's about incest. There are Jewish texts that talk about children inheriting their brother's wives, how old a girl needs to be before you can have sex with her (three years and a day), how old a girl can be before you can marry her (nine years old.) Paedophilia was alive and well in the Hebrew and the Xtian world. Jesus says of the gay centurion that he has faith unlike any Jesus had seen but he didn't admonish him for having a gay lover who was most likely still a child or at most a teen. Sexual immorality is a complex topic, often relation to immorality from a ritual perspective, not a general moral perspective. Sodom and Gomorrah were not destroyed because of general immorality nor were they destroyed due to sexual immorality. They were destroyed because they failed in their observances of ritual morality. They were destroyed because they did not look after their least vulnerable. There is language used about that situation where vagueness does a lot of heavy lifting, even though the reasons are spelled out. Sexual immorality can also be definitionally to do with rape. Context is key.

The word was commonly used for the younger partner in a same-sex relationship. It is usually translated into Engligh as boy, servant or slave. In recent years progressive Bible scholars have concluded that the centurion was in a homosexual relationship with the “slave who was dear to him” in the gospel story.

@@DarkPrincess_13The short answer is no. The complicated answer is that "agender" means "without gender" thus removed from any question or definition of gender. Non-binary is still gendered but does not fit with the binary understandings of what gender is or can be. Non-binary being more like a third gendered category (for the sake of simplicity.) Non-binary and intersex are also not the same thing.
