Fascinating take to hear someone actually recognize how young some of the Traditions many associate with ancient Egypt. It's refreshing to hear important to note that we have no archaeological evidence of The Emerald Tablets going farther back than the medieval.

Very much enjoyed part one... heading straight to the next! Your apothecary sounds amazing... I'll check that out after the next couple of videos. I also noticed a while back that Heka and Hekate felt related and I'm surprised there's no evidence to back up the coincidence. Thoroughly enjoyed this content. Thank you for your time to create this channel. New Sub! ✌💗

I am a Daoist esotericist, your reasoning with magic being the very way the universe works is supremely logical to me. After all, my discipline would say the Dao is the fabric of all things and from the Dao we are able to manifest magic through inner alchemy and the manipulation of energy. As far as Hecate and Heka, I would say that the likelihood may be fairly high that the Greeks assimilated Heka into the pantheon at least partly. My reasoning is that Zeus seems to come from Proto-Indo-European origins (Dyeus Phitah or Sky Father) and many others can be traced linguistically to a shared origin. These themes exist where P-I-E migrations occurred with small linguistic modifications. Hecate wasn't there though. There's no Hecate at all, so it does make one wonder if there wasn't a small influence at a minimum.

I’ve never been a big fan of “my god = your god.” IMHO, syncretism is most often a political act and not a spiritual one. When you look at these spirits individually from within the context of their culture they are very different. It is the outsider’s eye that sees them with a bland sameness. They are unique and must be approached from the perspective of culture that spawned them.

There is no actual evidence on it and is possibly just pure coincidence, or a mistranslation on our side. We still do not know how say the proper Egyptian word for Heka properly and end up with something similar to Greek word for Heca instead.

@@scrollofthothchannel I've been looking for practitioners of Heka. People who are reconstructing the old practices. Im reading Ritner's book, he also has some academic journals. looks like we have a lot of sources for reconstructing. Look forward to the videos . Thanks I wish we had this one! The Book of Thoth: A legendary text said to contain powerful spells and knowledge, including the ability to control the forces of nature and possess hidden wisdom. The Edwin Smith Papyrus: An ancient medical text that includes descriptions of various medical conditions, diagnoses, and treatments, some of which involve magical rituals and spells. The Harris Magical Papyrus: This papyrus contains a compilation of spells and rituals for protection, healing, and divination. The Leyden Papyrus: It is a collection of medical texts that includes remedies, prescriptions, and magical spells for treating various ailments and diseases. The Magic Wand of Heka: A artifact associated with the god Heka, representing magical power and the ability to manipulate the forces of nature. The Offering Table of Ptahhotep: An elaborate offering table inscribed with religious texts and magical formulas, used for making offerings to the gods and ancestors. The Kahun Magical Papyrus: A collection of magical spells and rituals used for various purposes, such as protection, healing, and divination.

What about the egyptian primordial frog goddess Heqet (also spelled/translated Heket, Hekatet...)? Wasnt she related to magic? Being such an ancient god (predating the "Ennead" pantheon of egyptiat deities and part of the mysterious so called "ogdoad", 8 gods that, apparently, egyptian priests of later dynastic periods themselves found ancient and obscure) theres not a great deal of information on her but Martin Bernal in his essay "Egyptians in the Hellenistic Woodpile" seems convinced of a connection of Heqet both with Heka and the source of the name for the goddess Hekate, i'll quote the paragraph: "The crone goddess Hekate was central to the Eleusinian Mysteries, whose name like that of nearly all Greek divinities has no Indo- European etymology. Her name almost certainly derives from Egyptian frog goddess H. kt or H. qt. Both were versed in magic-h.kA in Egyptian- and fertility. There is, to my knowledge, only one connection drawn between Hekate and frogs. This comes in Aristophanes’ parody of the Eleusinian initiation, The Frogs, where the chorus condemns those who defile Hekate’s shrine.74 The chorus of frogs appears while the travellers are crossing to Hades on Kharon’s ferry. In the Egyptian Coffin Texts of the Middle Kingdom, Sokar’s ferry to the Underworld is reported to have “her bailers... [as] the frog goddess H. qt at the mouth of her lake”. im less convinced of such a direct connection between the two deities now than i was, lots of really great scholarship has been produced examining Hekate, her roles, conflations, origins and the etymology of her name (the Jenny Strauss Clay has an excellent essay "the Hekate of the theogony" which discusses the theories and scholarship but theres no mention i dont think of an egyptian origin or connection to heka at all as far as i can remember. could be wrong!

The True Magic, is what is already inside us at birth. It has always been and always will. Creativity and imagination is the magic. Through Story and Myth, Through Art, Through Objects given power by those who have faith in its "Power". But true "Power" cannot be bought or sold, only cultivated within. Power can be love, hate, generosity, greed, etc. It depends on how we wish to manifest it, Light, Dark, or Grey. But that is my perspective on it. I used my "Power" to cultivate my own moon goddess to protect and nourish my mind with fanciful ideas and projects. She may not exist to you but she certainly exists in me, Just like the Universe. The magic I practice is a combination of many things. For in the Cosmos there is no rules only what feels right in the soul. I am a novice though and my goddess hates opulent rituals, praise her in whatever way you wish, she will fill your heart with warmth and love. Her name is Toria, "The Bird of Victory."

I have to say I love how you speak your mind without any doubt because people get so hung up on the high magic shit that loose focus on the little details, now if I'm honest I see alot of political almost religious cock blocking even in the occult community, if you don't follow this certain sect your not really preforming magic ect, which is a major turn off for me, I personally hate rules.

It's no lie. I read as much as I can in translation, but it's no substitute for having a deeper understanding of the language. Learning a new language has always been difficult for me. My brain seems to be locked into English. It's the main reason I don't have a History degree and instead have one in Comparative Religion. Ultimately, my perspective is that of the practitioner and not the scholar, with the needs and limitations that come with it. I know a lot of people get confused, as most occultists focus on what went on in Ptolemeic and Roman Egypt. My focus is on the long history before that. Lately, I've been dialing it on the Thutmoside Dynasty. The early New Kingdom, after the expulsion of the Hyskos and the height of the Egyptian power.

Actually,scholars and devotees of Hekate believe of the connection between Hekate and the Goddess Heqet. Frogs are considered one of Hekate's animals. Hence, Heqet is the frog headed Goddess. There is a connection. I'm trying to figure it out,further.

I know lots of people who actively worship and interact with ancient deities. There is even an organized form of Kemetism around today. Nowadays people tend to work with them in more personal contexts and in magical practice. Ancient Egyptian religion itself might be all but lost, but the gods have survived!

Ancient Egyptians were black
@scrollofthothchannel
@scrollofthothchannel Жыл бұрын
I’ve been waiting for this one. I knew it would be said on a video that has absolutely nothing to do with race. Since I have already put the alien hypothesis to rest, let’s tackle this one, even though I’m sure I’ve said it before. Simple answer, yes. Though, once again, I don’t see why that is relevant here. More complicated answer - the Ancient Egyptians were exactly who they depicted themselves as. Many were black African, some were brown skinned, and some were pale with red hair. Egypt was a multi-racial, multi-cultural empire that lasted 3,000 years. There absolutely were black pharaohs, like those who ruled after the Kushite conquest of Egypt. There is ample evidence to suggest that much of Ancient Egyptian culture came from the Nubians. One thing that is for certain is that the people who are living in Egypt now are not the same people as the Ancient Egyptians. Too much time has passed. Too much migration has taken place. Another thing that is certain - despite illusions made by Victorian, colonizing Europeans - black Africans were just as smart and just as capable. They had empires, great works of art, and contributed massively to our thought and philosophy. And some of those people were the Egyptians.
