@@BrandonH17no but hes saying its new to "modern fitness". No it's not. Grapplers have been using these methods for millennia and never stoped. Modern people have just mixed them together. I learned about the mace watching an old Karl Gotch video on VHS.

I got really bored lifting weights. So I incorporate kettlebells, steel mace and sandbag training and it reinvigorated my joy for fitness. Oh and yoga to help with recovery and flexibility.

You are 100% right about that. These days too many old school moves are replaced with modern ones and are being forgotten. But there’s a reason they worked so well back then and should still be used today.

They typically didn't lift heavy weights. They training was typically heavy on cardio, shadow boxing and jumping around. Some did use weights, but it would be more of a carry or swinging motion rather than what we think about as weight training. For example, the boxer would hold these stones out as long as possible. Some did pull a bull cart.
