Learn how ancient Jewish wedding traditions shed light on some of Jesus' teaching in the New Testament. This is a fascinating look at how the marriage ceremony rituals of the Jews were used by Jesus to instruct His disciples about His second coming.

How old did females get married back in ancient Bible times?
@CogginsChurch
@CogginsChurch 27 күн бұрын
It varied but usually, men and women would marry quite young. The men were often a little older in the Israelite community because they were expected to be able to provide financially for their new wives. The women were usually in their mid to late teens. This was partially due to the mortality rate in childbirth. Young women stood better odds of surviving and giving birth. It was a societal understanding brought about by real-life challenges.

Interesting message on the wedding using Jewish traditions. It's absolutely necessary as Yeshua (Jesus) was born a Jew, lived a Jewish life, and died a Jew. The only confusing part was the mention of "Easter" in which there is no Biblical reference as Yeshua only followed Jewish Holidays, Festivals, and Feasts.

@@jeanalice4732 Absolutely, but "Easter" has no foundation in scripture. In the KJV (Acts 12:4), the word is erroneously used to translate "Passover". I hope this clears up any confusion. Have a blessed Day!

She eagerly awaited her beloved to come for her. But some of her maidens did not take the groom seriously in Jesus' parable and that will have grave consequences for them. Matthew 25:1-13 The Parable of the Ten Virgins [1] “Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. [2] Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. [3] For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, [4] but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. [5] As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. [6] But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ [7] Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. [8] And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ [9] But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ [10] And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. [11] Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ [12] But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ [13] Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour. @@CogginsChurch Do you always assume you're right and everyone else is wrong? No wonder you believe such nonsense. You just assumed I haven't read the bible, and that you possess "The Truth". See what having ridiculous beliefs does to your mind? You create your own reality. That can't be good. So, let's try again without assuming, ok? And try to answer my question: Why should anyone care what the bible says?

Just read the very 1st verse of the very 1st Gospel, Matthew, (Who was a Jewish tax collector). Matthew 1:1 The record of the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham: Abraham fathered Isaac, Isaac fathered Jacob, and Jacob fathered Judah and his brothers Or the Gospel of John 4, (Also Jewish, whose brother is the apostle James, again, also Jewish) Yeshua is speaking to the Samaritan woman at the well. A woman of Samaria *came to draw water. Jesus *said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone away to the city to buy food. 9 So the Samaritan woman *said to Him, “How is it that You, though You are a Jew, are asking me for a drink, though I am a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus replied to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” 11 She *said to Him, “Sir, You have no bucket and the well is deep; where then do You get this living water? 12 You are not greater than our father Jacob, are You, who gave us the well and drank of it himself, and his sons and his cattle?” 13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again; 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never be thirsty; but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to eternal life.” 15 The woman *said to Him, “Sir, give me this water so that I will not be thirsty, nor come all the way here to draw water.” 16 He *said to her, “Go, call your husband and come here.” 17 The woman answered and said to Him, “I have no husband.” Jesus *said to her, “You have correctly said, ‘I have no husband’; 18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this which you have said is true.” 19 The woman *said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and yet you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one must worship.” 21 Jesus *said to her, “Believe Me, woman, that a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, because salvation is from the Jews. 23 But a time is coming, and [h]even now has arrived, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” 25 The woman *said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.” 26 Jesus *said to her, “I am He, the One speaking to you.” I could go on but there's no space here to put the whole Word of Hashem (G-d).

It's about the tribe affiliation and bloodline. Not where one lived. Normally ascertain by the mother but in some cases also the father. Mary's lineage noted in NT. Back to David's. She was frequently accused of having an affair with a Roman occupation man as Rome was in control then. They lived in a area noted for this. Jesus was described as resembling a Gaul. Which then was France or Germany. He stood out in a crowd...by height.

The pagan / satanic festivals of "easter", "christmas", etc. have nothing whatsoever to do with Jesus The Messiah and salvation. The true Holy Days that are to be celebrated are mentioned in The Bible, The Feast of Passover, The Feast of Tabernacles, etc. Furthermore, according to The Book of Leviticus, pork, etc. is not to be eaten. Read Acts 10 closely and, most importantly, pray earnestly to Jesus The Messiah for guidance.
