I'm Ezidi and My Religion Developed in Mesopotamia. Ezidis traditionally live in Mesopotamia (northern iraq,southeastern turkey,northern syria) and we aren't Kurds or Arabs. We believe in one God and his seven angels.

What language does your family speak? Ezidi/Yazidi is a religion it’s not an ethnicity. If you claim it’s an ethno-religion then you should speak you’re own unique language. Like the Jews speak Hebrew. What is your mothers language? As far as I’m concerned Ezidis speak the Kurmanji dialect of the Kurdish language. Which makes Ezidis Kurdish ethnically.

@@wexqlp3863 First off, the heritage of Kurds should be debated and questioned in the first place. Sharing a language does not mean distinctive ethinicities can't exist, the kurmanji Kurds were islamised and therefore kept their mother tongue. In ezidi holy scriptures our religion is for 1) personified, 2) and it is a rule that only one can be born into the faith therefore within our own circles, before assimilation, it was generally considered to be Ezidi before anything else (e.g. as an ethinicity).

@@user-id5yg9fc9k - That’s only true because you have tried to protect you’re self against Islam. Same with Alevi Kurds of Anatolian, Ahle-Haqq of iran, Feyli and Kakai Kurds or Iraq and Iran. They all have the share the same roots as Ezidis who are also Kurdish like them. Ezidis are exclusively only Kurdish like the Anatolian Alevis, AhleHaqq, Kakai and Feylis. You can not get Assyrian Ezidis or Armenian Ezidis. There is a reason for this. Same with Feyli, AhleHaqq, Kakai and Alevi Kurds of Anatolia. The distinct instrument of Tambur plays a fundamental role in all of them. These are not mere coincidences. They are all ethnically Kurdish. Islam has oppressed all, but the oppression is not by the Kurdish ethnicity exclusively. It’s by the religion of Islam.
