Fabulous! I greatly admire Professor Amanda Podany - The crux of my current knowledge about Ancient Mesopotamia is owed to this splendid scholar (the Great Courses / Wondrium). BRAVA! Half of our know history happened in Ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt (circa 3,000 years) --- above all, I am thankful for her introduction of ENHEDUANNA to me! The first writer in history! PostScript - while I am not fond of the modern cultures of the Middle East, I fell deeply in love with the amazing cultures of Ancient Mesopotamia - Sumer, Akkad, Babylon, and Assyria. When will Prof Podany publish her book in audio format?

@@WorldHistoryEncyclopedia You're welcome! I just believe that history is the foundation for world knowledge, because without a proper historical context one cannot reason properly and as a result draw false conclusions built upon false premises. I've been pushing the case pretty heavily to some of my friends and acquaintances that history is the foundation for astronomy: *History is the map.* *Chronology is the grid on the map.* *Astronomy are the points on the grid.*

Thank you, Prof. Podany, for this fascinating talk. Your comments toward the end about the importance of textiles and about women being the weavers were especially eye-opening. One wonders if the women of that time ever recognized their collective power and used it to make demands of any sort.
