Just unboxed mine. Presentation is top. Concept is brilliant. I got the full black just enhances the “hole”. Not an easy reader but hey it’s a statement!

Wow... finally! something interesting and rare watch to talk about. I have heard of Peacock brand Chinese watch, but never seen one quite like this. It is really something unique to look at. Initially, I thought that Ciga Design (who created "Blue Planet") came out with this design. To me, that would make more sense. Anyway, it is a stunning piece. However, Ivan, isn't the Tourbillon supposed to regulated the earth's gravitational movement to make the watch rather very accurate? I thought that was the main function of tourbillon? Am I wrong? Not so sure. Listening to what you mention here, it does not seem like it is very accurate watch. If that is case, there are also many tourbillon watches in China, ranging from $500 to $1200 which all looks kind of decent from reputable China watch companies, mainly from movement companies. (of course, not as well done nor interesting to look at) It is very well executed and nice to look at and definitely a conversation starter watch. But close to $4000? that is just too much money for a Chinese Tourbillon which can not do what it is suppose to do, except the look of it. 120 hours? that is something great and to talk about. Can I be a potential buyer? probably not. If I wanted to buy something unique and something similar, I rather buy Ciga blueplanet for $1200 or so. Anyway, interesting and thought-provoking piece Ivan. thank you!!!!

Glad you enjoyed this and found it more interesting that the recent stuff I've managed to have my hands on! The tourbillon complication was invented in the time of pocket watches... in those cases it made sense to spin the flywheel (to balance out gravity effects) as pocket watches spend most of their running time in a certain vertical position. As you can imagine, that's not really relevant in wristwatches... it's been shown many times that tourbillon in these cases don't really add to chronometric precision, but rather just serve as a sign-post of watchmaking virtuosity - basically, it's there to show off. As you may have read, the real high end brands of the world (think Patek, Audemars, Vacheron, etc) don't tend to keep time very well! And that certainly includes their (many) tourbillons. So, going back to the complication of this watch... well, I think it does exactly (but not "precisely" haha) what it's supposed to do :)

I bought another tourbillon from them - Ocean Wing Tourbillon diver watch - the watch is quite nice and big, which is an advantage. The mechanism is inaccurate and is more than 25 seconds/day fast. The Peacock store assured me that the watch was very accurate and had no errors. Luminescence is quite weak. I do not recommend for this price. You can buy a better tourbillon for 600usd.
@PerthWAtch17 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing - yeah the inaccuracy is disappointing. So is the response to what is an objective feedback - I mean, what can you say? “No sir, it is actually running much more accurate than you THINK” 😆

I wonder how this would compare to the upcoming Atowak Core? It's the same concept with a central tourbillon,. probably chinese made, too. Idk the pricing? But, I think the overall styling and design of the Atowak looks more appealing to me. And, it might be a more manageable size.. more compact, possibly, from looking at the specs briefly.

It’s cheaper than peacock, I remember it’s around 3000 bucks maybe
@PerthWAtch8 ай бұрын
It say $2699 when I look it up, so yeah definitely cheaper. The movement is the same as in this Peacock as far as I can see, including the 120h reserve... probably sources from Peacock then, as it's a manufacturer. The advertised lug-to-lug is 49mm and thickness stated at 13.5mm... with both those dimensions being larger than this Peacock, I really don't see how it would be more "manageable" nor how it would be considered more compact.

Cool watch. I get tired of submariners with lollipop hands. I just bought the Full Lume Citizen BN0227-17X., and love it because it's different. I find the strap comfortable - made like my Protrek 2500 strap. The lume is sick....glows through the night with no problem. I wish more watch companies would color outside the box and make unusual watches. Some are garish, some are home runs....but I appreciate that they're at least offering different choices.

I think for $3000 you have to really love the design of the watch and while I see the quality of the design, it just doesn’t do it for me. I actually liked the design of the Aesop you reviewed a while back better.
