Wonderful lecture! Thsank you so much Mr. Tabor! After many years of listenning so many diffrent and scientific approaches towards ewarly Christianity by puzzeling all the many aspects and sources your recent lectures Mr. Tabor are kind of finalizing that puzzle in my head and heart. Basically it made me a stronger believer in the person(s) and messages of Christ(s) and Thora. I stepped out of Catholic church many years ago and i am finally very happy about that since science and common sense telling me i was right. By doing this i could maintain and conserve my deep believe ind the obviousely real story of Christ and whats the story all about, "following Jesus": it is to gain wisdom, being compassionate with all creature, being non violent, tolerance, have some introspection and being social, living non materialistic existence. Its easy and its hard at the same time. Thanks to your and others scholars`analysis of the "crazy" Pauline church i am much clearer now, to understand the paradoxes and absurdity, the Catholic and Orthodox Christianity in its direct connection to the brutal mperial Roman power really meent and means in history for the Western and so whole world nowadays . I am far from blaming Pul and i really assume that he had stigma as being gay, what made him even more determined and anti Jewish in a way. I much more think that he was just a kind of absurd, narcistic creature who brought Jewish theosophy and theology to the gentiles. Tragic is only that this went all so wrong for the Jewish offspring and in general, his interpretation/ aberration made us the humans who are destroying the planet and waging one "Christian" war after the other non stop. That´s Pauls tragedy and maybe guilt, since he made it possible with his manipulations! Isnt this idea fascinating and crazy? I mean, when an emperor thinks, that he is sent from the one and only god to rule, what is he then supposed to do or regret at anytime? And if he feels like, he gets absolution by a "Pope" figure, who is also stating to be sent from the one and only! Hahaha what a pervert card blanche! To do anything you want! its the full opposite of what Jesus said! Fascinating, isnt it? Thank you so much! Greetings from Hamburg, Germany!

The story in a nutshell. God felt rejected when Isreal asked for a king. So you should ask yourself. Why ever would God promise the "Everlasting Throne"? And the logical answer for a super jealous God who does not share in his glory. He promised the throne back to himself. Therefore our God is the King of the universe again. As he should be. The "How" God did this is from the Bible. However even if one wanted to sit All the Books aside. It is enough for you to know that God's name is Jesus. And if you call for him. After he does to you what you did at others. He remembers your sins no more.

Thank you Dr Tabor, your contributions are invaluable. Certainly, there is contrast between Paul and Jesus... but I also see similarities. I believe they were both mystics who sought to deeply internalize the Torah and its practice. I also think that without Paul's apocalyptic fervor in proclaiming his gospel, the message of Jesus would have been relegated to obscurity as just another Jewish sect.

@@David_Brinkerhoff93 While Paul certainly had his influence, it's worth remembering that all the gospels were written later than Paul and reflected his influence. We don't have a clear message of Jesus. We have what we can glean of what Paul thought from his letters and we have 4 different later messages written in the 4 distinct gospels. Each of which has its own message and all of which are already influenced by Pauline thought. It's common to think of this conflict as Paul vs "the Gospel Jesus" where that is some kind of coherent merger of the 4 that represents the real Jesus. That's not really a valid approach.

Everything else appears to be the accretions of myth, for there are many scholars who argue that the gospels are based on the myths of Homer, the lives of Julius and Augustus Caesar, the works of Josephus, stories about the prophets from the Tanakh, and the teachings of Paul. 3:31 you say that there is a little doubt that Paul was allowed into the inner circles of the original followers of Jesus. Well they may have been willing to accept him, and accepted him provisionally, he did not engage with them, and retreated from being trained by them. Paul himself both of this in Galatians chapters one and two, and supporting that his revelations are superior to the pillars of the church, the so-called killers of the church. So this is not a complete statement, and could be misunderstood that the inner circle of the 12 excepted paul. It’s very clear they really didn’t because even in X9 it says the disciples did not believe that Paul had truly met Jesus, and Pauls Jesus even allegedly prophesied that the pool would not believe Jesus had met with Paul. That was in the trance Paul had in the temple while praying when he race back to Jerusalem to meet the apostles for the first time. So there’s many such reasons. And then you need to go look up Ambrosaster Who is a matter of fact in his commentary on first Corinthians simply observed as if everybody knew it was a fact that the 12 had rejected Paul is an apostle. And if you didn’t connect the Abbie onto the 12 come which is now clearly visible in the Dead Sea Scrolls as Professor I have them in his brew, then you can put the dots in a row, it means that the 12 rejected Paul not only as Ambrosi Astor says but also as reflected in the Dead Sea Scrolls.

It is simply not true that Paul taught of a temporary Torah. Paul never said the law was temporary and although he was called to teach the Gentiles, he longed perhaps more than anyone for the salvation of his Jewish brethren. This is why in Romans 9:3 he said something incredible - that he wished he could be accursed if it would save his brethren. Paul knew Jesus came not to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. Would the Holy Spirit have chosen so many letters from a man who was an apostate or at odds with the 11? Paul taught against the Judaizers who demanded that Gentile converts follow the law. The law cannot save, only the resurrected Christ Jesus can do that and he chose Paul to teach this message.

If you are going to reference Acts as fact then reference Christs statement to Aninias that He would make sure Paul would suffer for “my name”.

7:24 I don't think Acts records Paul's answer because it held no water and he was wrong! So rather than record the hero of the book being corrected, it was simply left out. Then Paul left Jerusalem never to return. God gave the Torah through Moses before "all the eyes of Israel" (Deut. 34,12 ) at Mt. Sinai. Would God give Paul a "higher Torah" on a road trip to Damascus and keep "all the eyes of Israel in the dark"? A Torah that supersedes the Torah given by God to Moses in front of everyone? And if this was truly God's plan, why didn't God mention it to James, John or Peter in Jerusalem? I think Paul was a wacko Constantine's church found very convenient in the 4th century.

Absolutely ! Saul (Paul) received certificates from authorities to capture and kill Christians without trial, even as far away as Damascus thanks to the Roman Empire with laws and rules that allowed Paul to obtain permission from the high priest and then to go capture people in another city. How did Paul obtain this power? The High Priest and the Jewish Sanhedrin of Jerusalem collaborated with the Romans, and one politician of this period had deep ties to the High Priesthood of the Temple of Jerusalem and political influence in Damascus: Herod Antipas the Tetrarch! Saul/Paul was able to fulfill his desire to persecute Christians in the name of the high priest throughout the Roman Empire because his family was close to Herod's family! Saul therefore needed religious authority (Temple) and needed Roman authority in Damascus (King Aretas IV of Damascus) to allow this! King Aretas IV who ruled Damascus, Petra and Arabia during the period of Paul's conversion (Paul preached for 3 years in Arabia, Damascus, Petra (Galatians 1:17), was the father-in-law of Herod Antipas the Tetrarch. John the Baptist preached against Herod Antipas for having divorced his wife in order to marry his half-brother's wife named Herodias, his own niece, daughter of his half-brother Aristobulus IV. John the Baptist defended the honor of Herod Antipas' first wife: Phasaelis, daughter of King Aretas IV Moreover, it was Herod Antipas (Tetrarch of Galilee and Perea) and Herodias who ordered the beheading of John the Baptist (Matthew 14:1-12, Mark 6:16-29), and when Yeshua was arrested in Jerusalem, the procurator of Judea Pontius Pilate sent him to Herod Antipas, who had come to celebrate the Jewish Passover in the capital, but quickly returned him to Pontius Pilate without judging him (Luke 23:1-11), then Pontius Pilate and Herod became friends (Luke 23:12), John the Baptist and Yeshua are of the same family, and this same Herod met John and Yeshua! In the church at Antioch, certain "prophets and teachers" like Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene and Manahen were raised with Herod the tetrarch and Saul (Acts 13:1) When Paul is arrested, the commander assigns 200 soldiers, 70 horsemen, 200 archers to protect Paul (Acts 23:23-24), Paul was a Roman citizen, but Roman citizens did not normally receive 470 bodyguards. Paul was protected because he was related to the family of Herod Agrippa! Flavius Josephus cites Saul and a certain Costobar in his "Judaic Antiquities, Book 20, ch.9, passage 214" as violent evil people who spread evil and robbed the weakest because they were of royal race and very much in favor because of their relationship with Agrippa... a few passages later, Costobar and Saul left Jerusalem! Paul had companions with him when he left Jerusalem to go to Damascus (Acts 9:7, 22:9, 26:13-14), everything fits! Flavius Josephus cites Festus, he who attended the judgment of Paul (Acts 25:1-27), also James, brother of Yeshua where he emphasizes his judgment by the Sanhedrin (Judaic Antiquities Book 20, Ch.9, passage 200 ), this proves that Saul cited by the author is indeed Paul of Tarsus! Costobarus and Saul are the grandsons of Costobarus, since Costobarus married Salome, had a daughter named Berenice who married Aristobulus IV, one of Herod's sons. Both are the parents of the future kings Herod Agrippa I and Herod of Chalcis, as well as that of Herodias. Together, they also have a son called Antipater, who will have two sons: Costobar and Saul who is the apostle Paul of Tarsus! Paul greets those in Aristobulus' house (Romans 16:10), and Aristobulus is a Herodian! so he loved spending time with his family members. Paul is therefore from the royal family of Agrippa (Herod) who took advantage of this status to ravage innocent people and spread evil! Moreover, Herod ravaged the churches, killed James brother of John, and put Peter in prison during Passover (Acts 12:1-5), but the Lord delivered Peter from his prison by his Angel who sent him ( Acts 12:6-11), Paul identifies his Herodian parents since he greets a member of his family named "Herodium" who calls him "my kinsman" (Romans 16:11), Herodion is a Greek name which is a diminutive of 'Herod, which indicates links between his family and the descendants of Herod the Great! Unlike Yeshua who was unjustly condemned and committed no fault, Paul this murderer received the favor of Agrippa who declared that Paul "did nothing to deserve death or prison" (Acts 26: 31), normal, since Paul is from Agrippa's family! Paul was a friend of Caesar, as was Pontius Pilate (John 19:12), Paul invoked Caesar in his judgment (Acts 25:10-12), he also greets those of Caesar's house (Philippians 4:22). Paul was therefore present during the trial and crucifixion of Yeshua! Yeshua said : "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the leaven of Herod" (Mark 8:15), since Paul is a Pharisee and a Herodian, Yeshua therefore warned us to beware and flee from hypocrites and murderers like Paul! Paul is undoubtedly the one who helped the Pharisees free Barabbas and crucify Yeshua instead!

Paul was directly in line with Jesus/Yeshua's teachings to render unto caesar what is Caesars and Jesus Yeshua paid taxes. Paul was not out of line in seeing Messiah for who he was as the gospels say, the only begotten son born of a virgin... This is heresy seeking a confirmation bias. Show me where Paul calls himself the 13th apostle? Paul is the 12th apostle chosen by Yeshua/Jesus. He is of the 12th tribe, Benjamin, and like Benjamin where his mother died giving birth, Paul was and untimely birth. Like Saul, a Benjaminite who fell on his own sword Paul took there place of the traitor Judas who killed himself, and has other deeper truths in his ministry.

John 18:35-36 Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?” Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” Luke 20:22-25 “Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?” But He perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Why do you test Me? “Show Me a denarius. Whose image and inscription does it have?” They answered and said, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” Romans 13:1-7 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor. 1 Peter 2:11-23 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation. Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men- as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the harsh. For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

Paul renders himself to Caesar. Acts 25:10 Then said Paul, I stand at Caesar's judgment seat, where I ought to be judged: to the Jews have I done no wrong, as thou very well knowest. Acts 25:11 For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Caesar. Acts 25:12 Then Festus, when he had conferred with the council, answered, Hast thou appealed unto Caesar? unto Caesar shalt thou go. Luke 20:25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.

Matthew 13:29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Paul and Yeshua did not teach the same gospel. Paul claimed to be a pharisee, yet working for the Sadducee’s , and going to Damascus to persecute the followers doesn’t add up because the Temple priest had no authority in Syria . Also after having his conversion he went to Arabia instead of Jerusalem. This is odd. I submit Paul has gotten so many off the truth. May those who forsake the Torah be brought back to truth. The gospel that is taught by many people today has been reduced down to just "faith alone". This false gospel of "faith alone" has made following the commandments of Christ null and void. Obeying His commandments have been eliminated from the gospel and have been made subsequent and optional to salvation. Walking in the Spirit has been made optional as well. This false gospel of "faith alone" changes what Jesus said in Matthew 7:14 - For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. By teaching that we do NOT need to keep the commandments(plural) of Christ as the gospel, the saving power of the gospel has been neutralized. The end result is that millions of people have been deceived by Satan into thinking that they are saved. They were taught that "faith alone" saved them apart from them having to keep the commandments of Christ. This has become Satan's masterpiece and has deceived millions of people into thinking they have eternal life in Christ when they actually remain lost.

Nice work of fiction. As fictional has the book of acts and the gospels. The fact is we know virtually nothing about Paul, and what we do know comes from the handful of letters he wrote that are not considered forgeries. And those letters are all theological discourses which have nothing in them about Paul’s history. What most xians think they know about Paul comes from the acs of the apostles, and of course that is nothing but fanfiction hogwash.
