I've seen on TV, advertisements of small cordless heaters that plug directly into the electrical outlets on the wall. They may be useful in your situation. Keep going, all your hard work and positive attitude will make all your dreams come true

Thanks David! ❤️ We had a very similar thought yesterday - we found two small heaters online from private sellers which I could pick up the same afternoon. So I did and they are now already busy heating up the house. For now keeping a steady temperature above zero is all we really need. 😅

Goodness, Liz! Your renovation looks to be going about as well as mine. At least you have some good little worker bees. It's difficult to find anyone to do anything where I am. I've been living on subfloor for the past 5 years. Hopefully you'll get your heating situation worked out sooner rather than later and have a cozy place to work. Best of luck to you!

Hi Liz make sure to double check the control panel for the heating it looks new but stranger things have happened try a continuity tester hopefully it is something simple! I have seen these panels not work simply because the batteries if you have them were dead despite the panel being hard-wired as well.

Thanks Martin! ❤️ In the video you only saw a very shortened version of what happened 😄 The company who installed the heating system has already been at the house multiple times, we've been in constant contact trying to find the exact component that they identified as not working anymore. So unfortunately it's not the control panel, the control panel is fine 😅

The cover of the video definitely makes me feel the cold! 🥶 As much as I love winter unfortunately winter is like an "enemy" when you try to renovate a whole house. I can see a very good progress from the last update we had, so the things slow and steady are going to the right direction for sure 😃 The good thing is that you are not in a hurry, so this is why when you finish with the renovation the end result will be 100% what you dreamed for and even more 😁 Stay strong and let's hope that the temperature will go above 0 very soon or the heating system will be fixed 🤞The discussion with the subtitles about the sliding door made me laugh, you know it was like watching a silent film, great job on that! My vote would go for a glass door because it would look more cool! Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️😊 Yeah, some things have already happened again since - I have to small heating systems now, which is not ideal but it gets the job done. Also, we now have 10°C which is... a lot for January 🎉 Everything's going well except the heating company is playing dead 😂 maybe I'd do that too if I were in their shoes 😂 And thank you so much for believing in me - 5 digits by the end of the year would be a dream come true 😍

If you can dismantle the stair rail take it to a commercial paint stripper. They will suspend the wood in a bath of hot caustic soda for 24 hours and then pressure wash it.

Hallo Liz, ist nur der Ofen kaputt oder auch der Kamin/ Abzug? Wenn du genug Heizmaterial hast, in den Baumärkten gibt es günstige Bauöfen. Sie sind schnell angeschlossen, der Schornsteinfeger muss sie allerdings abnehmen. Aber danach kannst du die ganze Nacht durchheizen. Im Februar soll es noch einmal kalt werden und ich fürchte auch den März.

Hi, ein kleines Teil der Gastherme ist kaputt, der Rest funktioniert. Der Kamin ist nicht betroffen 😊 Vielen Dank für den Tipp - lustigerweise kommt der Kaminkehrer genau morgen früh für einen Routine-Check, ich werde ihn mal drauf ansprechen 😊 ❤️❤️

Great update Liz...thanks. Question: I live in the united states. here a renovation like this would have to be approved by the town...and you would have to have meet certain building standards...and they would do periotic inspections....do they do that there?

Thank you! 🥰 Interesting question - here in Germany this applies to buildings that are classified as a 'historic monument'. Then certain regulations apply to make sure the building's historic character is preserved. So you can't just do whatever you like but the government will also support the renovation financially. Interestingly my house is not classified as a historic monument even though it should be. Nobody in my hometown understands why actually 😅 So quite the lucky find as I get to renovate to my heart's content 😂
