You just made a great, succinct summary of the US fans. Still, though the "rah rah rah" stuff is understandably off-putting for Europeans and can often be pretty crass, its a very American fan reaction. We shouldn't try to carbon copy the European fanbases since they have their own unique and incredible traditions that belong to them alone. We should grow organically taking what we can from Europe and incorporate it with our own homegrown love of sport. Another thing that's nice is that despite our immaturity, you rarely see the kind of racism among American soccer fans that you see all the time in Europe. Nobody throws banannas at black players. Nobody chants ethnic slurs against Catholics or Protestants to stir up sectarian tension... again I'm not trying to knock the Italian ultras or the SPL rivalries. We have plenty of our own fat drunks to be ashamed of lol. It's just an interesting difference that isn't really common knowledge.
