I'd been working on the yard for the last eight years whilst loaning her, and now that they've sold the yard for development, they've given me Heather as a thank you for the help over the years 😊!

I'm new to your channel and have watched lots of your videos. I had ponies when I was young and horses and riding was my life until I had children. My 4 children are now all grown and in their 30ths. So after over 30th years last October and me now 61 I got a horse. I dont work anymore and although my partner has never owned a horse or ridden he has always loved them. She is a 15 year old 16h wormblood and at times been a challenge, but I absolutely adore her and she has enhanced my life. I particularly like watching your channel because you and your husband are closer to my and my partner s age and your husband is new to it all as is my partner, and your approach is so kind and patient very like my own. You have helped me with some of the things I'm a bit rusty with. Your horses as absolutely beautiful and I look forward to watching your progress with the new young ones. ❤🐎😊

This just warmed my heart today, Tara! Great medicine for me (I got my stem cell transplant yesterday and all went well). I just cannot express how gorgeous Little Diablo is and what a wonderful disposition he has. Despite all his youth and lack of experience, he is taking it all in and in a very calm and mature manner. I think he is an absolute keeper and yes, very much like Apollo! It is wonderful to have an animal that is human oriented and wants to be social with you. Just fantastic all around! So happy for you! Can’t wait to see what the boys think of him and how things go with little Bella! I’m literally on the edge of my seat! LOL!

The fact that he is following you around so soon is amazing, what a loving chap he is and will continue to be. Considering he's basically just been weaned, and everything that's happened since, he has such a lovely calm disposition. You must be thrilled and delighted that you definitely made the right choice with him! So nice to see him enjoying human company and getting to know you all. I adore this breed as I think they look and move the nearest to an Arab and I adore Arabs! I call Jim the whippet and Jenny my ponies! They even have equafleeces - the company make fleeces for horses too! I'll let you know how she's getting on. By the way, when do you get the little buckskin filly? 💜🐎

Aww what a difference a day makes. I loved how Diablo came to you in the paddock on his second day. His walking on a lead rein was so much better. Steve is great in the paddock, he’s like the horse whisperer, Apollo might have competition to who gets the most human attention in future when you are working in the paddock lovely video. You have a couple of horse whisperers on your hands. Steve & Rens clearly enjoy interacting with the horses & are simply "in the present' with them. The horses, in turn, respond to that. He reminds me so much of an AngloArab colt we had, with similar markings too. He loved pinching the hat off Dad’s head while doing the fences. We’d often find a curious nose sticky beaking over our shoulder while tying off wire. Diablo is going to be a perfect chap for long overnight trail rides, he’d stay with you and follow you up and down steep slopes. I think he’s also going to set a confident example for the filly.

I love the way you all just spend time with him. I think too many people forget that horses really need time and patience. So many people want to show up and ride their horse for an hour or so and then leave the barn. Which I understand because so many people live really busy lives and have kids and jobs but it's so important that people understand that building a relationship with a horse is really time consuming, especially young ones.

Well, young Diablo is so handsome! I feel he also looks so much better with THIS background :) Something about his red against the lush green grass, and the openness amongst the big trees, lovely. Oh Tara Little Diablo is a sweetheart. He has just left his mother and familiar surroundings and had a meeting with the Vet and he still wants to be with you, Rens and Steve. Considering he is still not a year old he is behaving impeccably and seems relaxed and ready for a new adventure. I am looking forward to seeing his progress over the coming weeks. Yes he reminded me of Apollo the day you met him and brought him home he was my favourite chestnut from the start. He's a brave soul he soon gets over things that bother him and he got the hang of needing to be led out of the paddock. Hope the owner of his parents is watching these videos that is if and when she has time to , she could learn quite a bit more than she knows already. The cows on his first day home was a prime example of how pressure to a animal works without touching them works by them coming up to him in his space this made him feel pressure and think whether he is safe and stand his ground and fight or should he take flight and run away as they made them uncomfortable being a large group of animals, now people will know why the saying nosy old cow comes from! He even loves Steve right away too as both you and Rens ,he's clearly had quite a lot of interaction with people there but no lead training just because he followed his Mum around, it's just as well he is Very quick at learning. Can't wait to see Bella and Diablo together and Farouk's face Apollo will be straight nose to nose he loves playing with Farouk so he's is going to be hyper.😁🐴🐎

When you said he was social like Apollo it made me smile. I noticed as soon as you were out in the paddock with the wheelbarrow he was right there with you. Even when you were trying to lead him and he was not going anywhere … his kind nature shone through. He likes his humans, he is very interested in things around him from the cattle to the traffic. I think that is a sign of intelligence. You have hit the jackpot. He is very beautiful but to me the most important is temperament and sociability and he has that in spades. I think he is likely a bit lonely - being a herd animal and newly weaned from momma, so he is happy to have you guys to hang with. He and Belle should be a real team. Thanks for the video log of the first few days. He is really settling in.

He might not have had too much done with him, however he certainly has been treated kindly and at least you can put a head collar on him and catch him, looks as if he’s been lead a little bit. So nice to see him settling in and that he wants to be with you, could just be looking for some reassurance at the moment as he’s on his own, however that’s good in my book that he’s happy to be with you and is starting to explore a bit more 😊👍 Looks to have a very calm manner about him too. I know it’s early days and he’ll probably come out of his shell more, particularly when he has a companion, however this is a perfect time for you to work with him a little , without too many other distractions 😊

He definitely doesn't seem to have suffered any ill effects from the castration up to now so hopefully all will keep going well. Best technique to move stuck feet well executed Tara. Can you explain for us what the plan is with the two new horses and how long they must be separated from Farouk and Apollo. Have you relocated the big boys to somewhere else for awhile so you can work with the youngsters ? Will they all be together at some point on this property or will you have to do a lot of shuffling around . You have a lot of training ahead of you as both babies are very green and need to learn everything so I am just curious , ( and maybe a bit nosey ! ) I am sure you have thought it all out. I admire you for taking on two new ones , giving Diablo a pasture mate . I eagerly look forward to these daily posts , just wish they were longer ! LOL ! Best of luck ! Every day is an adventure !
