Chael, did you forget? It was a 3 round main event as you have called for, for a meaningful period of time. As a member of the audience I can safely say, no one left the arena dissatisfied. On top of that fighters were without injury and will be able to compete again soon. Really begs the question, why are main events five rounds?
@Mac10Demarco5 жыл бұрын
Main events that are 5 rounds give more definitive results to high profile fights. Even though I enjoyed this fight, it wasn’t a high profile fight at all. So, it didn’t matter that this one wasn’t 5 rounds. Also, 5 rounders do give chances to fighters who are down on the scorecards to catch up or finish the fight.

One of the ahem intangibles is how much fight or grit a person has in themselves. Many fighters still WANT to fight after three rounds if they havent won enough on points. Knowing they still had a lot of fight in them leaves both the fighters and the fans feeling like it got cut short. Like the results would or at least COULD have been very different if only they had been allowed to keep fighting.
@adammckenzie87695 жыл бұрын
I thought I agreed with that until this fight !! This fight needed and deserved a 5 rd to have a clear cut decisive winner.... Anderson coulda won when the fatigue starts to set in and almost was like he didn’t time mange the fight and others I think well.... he plays a tatic game that almost needs 5 rds to get that moment to catch his opponent... he fuks around that much to frustrate and lull the opponent into traps and he needs fatigue, mentally and physically to execute the traps!!!
@nigelliotta34405 жыл бұрын

Looked to me that anderson was trying to pass the torch and let him just barely win. but i dunno it was just a thought... I didnt see anderson try to finish him at any time. but like i said its just a thought....

Hmm he tried to kill him with a flying knee, but Israel said he grew up watching all of silvas fights so he knew his moves and tendencies

EntrepreN8 Consulting I see your point but I think Silva’s just starting to decline a bit, he hasn’t seemed as “spry” as of late. But he also threw some wingers at Adesanya, they just whiffed by and slightly missed. There were a few he threw with bad intentions that would’ve definitely put him out.

Don't agree at all. In all of Anderson's matches I have never seen him as offensive as against Adesanya.
@JohnboySK645 жыл бұрын
@@hybridwafer i agree, I am still a huge Silva fan, but to suggest he held back or anything of that nature is just wishful thinking, could he have fought a little smarter? Yes, and he was definitely very aggressive compared to his other fights which made for a great fight to watch but doesn't suit his style, the Silva who bites down on his mouth piece and swings is better than the average at doing it, but where Silva reached his flowstate in previous years is when he was measured, patient , crafty and controlled the fight, he also didn't like being hit, now he seems to love it, it seems to be much more about giving the fans some love now and making sure he gives us fun shows.

Agree with Chael 100%. Adesanya was impressive but seeing what the Spider can still do at age 42 was incredible.

Meh...Adesanya is avoiding Paulo Costa, never mentions his name and chooses to fight Silva who has never been the same since breaking his leg and post USADA. This was a no win situation for Adesanya as the victory has not done a thing for him and a loss would have been worse. Silva is not hungry and had nothing to lose. I was hoping Silva would announce his retirement so we never have to see silly spectacles such as this again.
@robloxgod69455 жыл бұрын
Adesanya literally offered to fight Costa but Dana and team don't want to until they're both built up some more. Bad for business apparently, Israel said he wanted to fight him though before he even fought Brunson.

Couple of interesting post fight press conference things.. 1. Izzy is super smart and has easily watched Silva fight 10,000 times. You can tell he has a photographic memory when it comes to fighting and it was interesting to hear him talk about the nuances of the fight. 2. Silva said, "I respect Chael"

Fighters that make it to ufc level should be able to fight who ever they choose those fighters at the top work their ass off some hurt their body weight cutting and they train everyday. Yet some fighters are left in the shadows of fighters that can trash talk
@danphilippidis15715 жыл бұрын
what you don't understand is, silva and adesanya are fighting on a different level than these other guys.. not physically but mentally... this was a chess match. its like how adesanya might feint a kick so anderson thinks he will kick and then punch, but with such high smart fighters, anderson knows that by feinting a kick he will most likely use his hands so adesanya might respond by feinting the kick, throwing his hands out there ( just to make it look like he will punch) but then actually throwing a kick. In gaming it is called yomi layers
