The weirdest thing about Anderson Silva is that he doesn’t seem to care whether or not he wins. When he was fighting Bisping he seemed very hesitant to end the game after he KO’d him with the knee. It’s like he wants to keep fighting and doesn’t care about the record. He’s a very strange and wonderful martial artist.

Anderson, for me, was hard to watch in the Bisping fight. His accuracy was significantly worse, his jab was nonexistent and his striking wasn’t a diverse as it normally is. That was also the 1st time I had ever seen Anderson throw wild, looping punches (while missing horribly), rather than the straight down the pipe, pinpoint laser strikes I was used to seeing. He is a highly technical and skilled martial artist, so for him to somehow watch film and not notice his shortcomings, to me, says he’s either a tad bit delusional and/or the people around him just aren’t being honest with him. I’m sure age is getting to him as well...in fact that’s probably the #1 reason he’s regressed, but I’m still holding out hope he can recover and regroup enough to have 1-3 more good performances, win or lose.

Chael should seriously be a promoter. He sold me on a fight with an over the hill Anderson Vs Adesanya. Honestly seeing the way Adesanya dismantled Brunson and seeing Anderson Vs Brunson I gotta lean heavily towards Adesanya as the favourite (MMA maths logic but the point still stands) but Chael has got me interested in a matchup that I dismissed as a foregone conclusion. On a side note I don't think Israel is as good as Anderson was 10 years ago. Infact I don't even think he's close and that's not a knock on Israel. Anderson wasn't just beating world class level competition. He was making them look like lost toddlers inside that octagon like they were fighting on two completely different levels. He would dodge punches and between dodging throw an untelegraphed counter kick to knock a guy out. He did things that I still haven't seen done in the octagon 10 years later. He really was one of a kind and I don't think we'll see a fighter of Anderson's calibre head and shoulders above the competition like that again. Although GSP and Aldo dominated in similar fashion nobody was as entertaining and dynamic in the octagon quite like Anderson Silva was.

Anderson Silva plays around a lot in the ring trying to make his fights look more interesting. When he is being the technical fighter audiences criticized his fights as boring. I think this will be a three round feeling out process where each fighter is overly waiting to capitalize on the others mistake. It’s going to suck cause I don’t see either man being the aggressor which could ultimately end in one of them getting caught.

Other than the Brunson fight, I’m not super impressed by Adesanya. He didn’t look bad before and showed some good potential but I didn’t think “wow this guys going to be champ” before Brunson. Everyone’s sleepin on Silva in this fight but he’s definitely got a chance at winning. Adesanyas not twice Silva’s size like DC, and he’ll stand and strike with him just like he wants. But Adesanya did look champ caliber vs Brunson so who knows? I’m excited for this fight. It’s hard making a prediction here but if I was playing with free money I’d take Silva upsetting Adesanya, but not steam rolling him.
