All the Ramen on the Sky yes yes i know, and i 100% agree with you. i was just contributing to this conversation by stating that even tho mark is defninetly the writing god of these guys, jake often is forgotten by the fans inbetween misha and mark (maybe because he doesnt have a lot of youtube vids etc i do not know)
@arbitermusic1978
@arbitermusic1978 7 жыл бұрын
alpenjodel24 yeah, sadly he is often forgotten, mostly, in my opinion, because he has the least recognizable writing style. Misha and Mark both have INCREDIBLY recognizable styles, and personalities for that matter, and Jake is often overshadowed by them. He is by no means bad, but he just doesn't have the personality to keep up with Mishap A-sewer and Mrak Holcomb-mania

I totally agree with Mark when he says sometimes the music or album or band that doesn’t click with you right away, if it grows on you and you give it a chance, you will absolutely get obsessed with it for a long time compared to something that clicks with you right away cause it will get old pretty quick cause you are used to that so that’s why you like it at first. Something that doesn’t click right away isn’t something that you normally like or listen to but that’s why once it clicks you don’t get sick of it after a short while.

The way I always like to think of bands like Periphery and Meshuggah is that it's music for musicians. It goes on a different level than music such as heavy metal and hard rock simply because its written with a certain complexity that musicians have been trained to pay attention to.

I guess, isn't Periphery III a bit toned-down compared to the first 2 though? I think non-musicians could get into that one a lot more, despite my preferring the first album.
@thaedleinad
@thaedleinad 7 жыл бұрын
Well, maybe for Meshuggah... But Periphery can be very non musician friendly most of time. I like both bands anyway.
@MarkToast99
@MarkToast99 5 жыл бұрын
@Random dude Periphery and Meshuggah write very aesthetically. That's not to say their music isn't emotional, it absolutely is. I know more about the Periphery side of things, so I'll focus on them for this. Periphery does not write music for anyone but themselves. They make music that they, as musicians, think sounds good aesthetically. This is why I say it's music for musicians. That means that other musicians who have either been trained in music theory or have picked up musical habits through a lot of experience will hear this music and want to understand what they are hearing. To be more specific, what I meant in my comment was that this is music that would interest a musician's aesthetic tastes. You're absolutely right that music isn't about complexity. Take Nirvana for example, very simple yet very powerful. However, complex music undeniably has a certain allure that draws in people who are comfortable and well versed with music. Every musician wants to understand the music they are hearing, and complex music gives them more to decipher. That's why this music is music for musicians.

Hey Andertons, thanks for inspiring with exactly this kind of content, so nice to see Bea and Mark jamming at the end as well as the Captains interview with the new guard. The work that you put into your youtube channel with Rob, Pete, Bea, Matt, and the other contributors is greatly appreciated by myself and I'm guessing a great deal of people who come here to watch. Please take this comment as encouragement to continue producing this great content.

This calls for a comparison between the USA and SE models.
@CapNaughty
@CapNaughty 8 жыл бұрын
I think the general consensus at this point after the pickup upgrades on the SE is that the SE can easily compete with USA soundwise, it's just construction and aesthetics and attention to little details that makes the USA series different.
@boynamedlen
@boynamedlen 8 жыл бұрын
BMCapra True, I'm just not sure what the differences are exactly because the SE seems to have very high end specs, so I don't really see why the USA one is that much more expensive.

Lennart N might be hard, they don't make the USA model anymore. It was very Limited

iamrichlol I see. I could see why they would discontinue the USA and make a more affordable model instead. The USA one was very expensive...
