I clicked to hear Ben's wonderful playing. Excellent.

I would watch/listen to an hour or more of Ben just playing and creating all the different loop tracks he could possibly think of and enjoy listening to him create over the top of them...

Top of the line looper ...also top of the line price point ! .....but to give credit where credit is due, truly nothing compares. Great demo Ben !

It's designed by the Man who made the looping pedal famous... he toured with a boss and then made his own with all the stuff the boss was missing. I've had a mess with both a standard loop pedal and this and it's night and day. The levels of creativity are crazy. I could sit for literally years with this running through a set of studio monitor... and probably never make 2 things the same.... Yes it's very expensive... but it's removes the need for a huge pedal board. Anything it doesn't have you add on.

8:35 You kind of glazed over the pedal assign toggled on and off... it was a game changer when I realized that the PEDAL ASSIGN button underneath the rigs can be set to turn an individual effect on and off for a rig, not All or None! Now I set tracks 1-3 to all have a bit of compression and plate reverb, then set individual effects that can be turned on (most notably the Octave for the bass layer). Makes the initial setup of a loop much easier when stacking acoustic, bass, and electric tunes to quickly get the bed going for a looped song. I dedicate channel 4 to the vocals to allow them to pass through all the time but only loop vocal parts on certain songs. ☮💜🎶

@@amygdalahijackers I've been using the Sheeran-X since the week it was released and just figured that out last month. 😶 Since the Octave for bass is the one I use the most, I put it in Loop 2... so I can hit bottom corner, then I tap second on top row twice (first to go to FX, second to turn it on). Pop out, record my bass line, then repeat to turn the octave off.

@@baimun great idea going to try it even though I have opz for bass
@baimun10 күн бұрын
@@amygdalahijackers It's nice to know that I can put compression and verb on the vocal, then add a delay or effect... or on a guitar channel with compression/verb toggle on distortion or some other effect. It makes this platform much closer to a single pedal option for a looping gig (even though most of the time I'll bring multiple instruments and have a Kemper as well).

Really dig mine - robust, good effects, nice screen, works well with midi and with a beatbuddy pedal for drums as well. But...miss a majorly important functionality which is the ability to pre trigger another loop or channel to play (before the actual track switching moment); hence, currently it requires the user to be extremely precise when switching loops/ tracks, which need to be done in the exact timing, whereas other simpler looping devices enable pre triggering (for quite a while now, actually). If you play and sing this becomes challenging. The X also does not allow for full track stop, only muting/ unmuting, which requires a lot of tap dancing. These both need to be addressed by the software team in a firmware update.
@RhysWilliams-u3o11 күн бұрын
Tbf it's all digital so most of the things can probably be added through a software update. But tbf your only gripe is that you need a certain level of skill/timing to use it.

Looks good, huge footprint though.
@Bob-Whiting11 күн бұрын
Yeah but... it's a complete pedal board AND loop machine all in one. Just sayin'
@RhysWilliams-u3o11 күн бұрын
It replaces an entire pedal board. You may want to add a few on the side but it's got a smaller footprint than my pedal board... and I have to tap dance to get anything close to what this can do.

Love this but I dont even know how to play in the same key or tempo for each recording so I think its beyond my capabilities.
@Bob-Whiting11 күн бұрын
The only time I really know what key we're playin' in is if I'm playing my harmonicas. They all have their own dedicated key, so you have to own 5-7 of them, and THEN, I ASK "what key are we in?" LOL (I can "hunt" for the key by playing the center of each harp and listening, but it's easier to just ask)

@RhysWilliams-u3o11 күн бұрын
Ed sheeran made the loop pedal a mainstream bit of kit. Tbf you can work absolute magic on it. But so can you on a stack of other loop pedals. But you ask my wife to name a pedal(she's not a musician) and she will say a loop pedal... and that because of Ed Sheeran.
@MattSwain111 күн бұрын
You say that but it can work both ways… as a metal fan anything that says Ed Sheeran on it is going to have to be spectacularly good before it goes on my pedal board

@@mattmakuta Nah, I actually kinda like the guy lol. He seems like a good person, and he's actually talented. I don't like all of his songs, but he's definitely one of my favorite pop artists I just legitimately think that this looper is wayyyy overpriced. A boss rc 600 with either a HeadRush core, HX stomp/effects, boss gt1000 core/gx10, or a comparable multi fx is going to be much better, and can be had for the same or less money.
