Another great demo Lee and Pete! I've got the Spark 2 and it's one of the best bits of gear I've bought in the last 30 years, very flexible and really inspiring. While the Tone Cloud has an incredible amount of dirty/distorted/metal patches there's relatively few good quality clean patches so can I suggest you make your own and upload them as you suggest at 15:26 especially as Pete really knows a good clean tone when he hears it? If you do, give them an easily identifiable Lee/Pete/Andertons name as there are literally thousands with the same name, eg, 'Lead Guitar', 'Rhythm Guitar' etc with no idea of how good they are? Cheers chaps!

Made a planned detour to Guildford as a pigrimedge. I am from NYC and have a fair share of big box places, but this store is slick. it's beautifully lit, sleek and clean! I said to my wife that if we lived near it we would go broke quickly. The other big thing I noticed was how how much high dollar gear they have. The was a whole pavilion of Bad Cat and Victory amps that could make you droll. And the staff is really nice and helpful. I took home a T-shirt and left a big thank you for Lee & Pete, but they were filming so I didn't see you in person. I hope the clerk gave you my message.

This is astonishing. I started playing guitar in 1972. In the days when leaning solos required slowing down a 33rpm vinyl LP to 16rpm this tech would have seemed to have been beamed in from the 25th century. It's absolutely crazy good and the Spark 2 looks almost perfect for home studio use. For the money it's extraordinary. I shall be having a word with good old Santa.

I didn't touch a guitar until I was about 16 or so. I recently bought an Alverez electric acoustic after having my first one for 45 years. I have never played electric thru anything but a Fender Blues Jr. and a Vox Tone Lab SE. Do you think this would be a good purchase? One young lady guitar player recommended this. What do you think? Thanks. 😊

@@robertbaker3174 from a user of both the previous spark and the new spark 2, this amp is incredible for the price. The software comes with so many useful tools to make getting any sound that you want so easy. There is a multitude of different amps packaged into the app, as well as pedals and all sorts of effects. The ability to search up any sound you want and be able to choose from dozens to hundreds of accurate tones is so remarkable. It is hard to explain how truly convenient and nifty it is. A real dream come true for any level of experience when it comes to electric guitar playing. It is a very very fun toy to play and incredibly functional as a amp and handy tool. Makes it so easy to pick up a guitar and just get to playing your favorite stuff!

Tough to compare, you're getting A LOT of cool tones from this, one of which will sound like valve setups. The 40watt has too much bass even at "0", if that'sfixed on the new 50w then I'd say it's a great piece of tech that gets you cool sounds rather easily. Tweaking the amp/pedal settings is fun but finicky@robertbaker3174

Have the Spark Mini, the Spark Go, the Yamaha THR 30ii w (still the best for clean sounds) the Boss dual cube (really not good to say the least) ... Didn't want the Spark 1 because of the muddy sounds on most youtube demos ... i was missing the effects loop on the portable amps because I often play with a looper, when the Spark 2 went out, I listened to all YT demos and found the sounds no longer muddy and it has two loopers ... I bought it ... And it is now my number one amp replacing even my regular sized amps (modulation and valves) .. That spark 2 is a beast and the app is just killing the market on AI integrated features on amps and it is also an audio card at the same time! ... I can't wait for new pedals/amps/IRs upgrades , that amp is the future of the amps' business as much as the Mooer GTRs Pro 800 & 900 are the future of the guitars' business ... We have finally now switched into the XXIst century ... At last !

@RomainG6409

@@kevinthompson4229 I can't compare both, the THR on clean sounds remains the best to me , but the versatility, the number of smart features (not only the AI) such as the access to different jam modes, the user cloud, the backtracks access, the two loopers (even if quite simple), the stereo line out, and the great improvement on the quality of the sounds make that amp a really fantastic "practice amp" and home studio amp. I am really expecting now the competitors, including Yamaha, to react... Hotone is not far ...

I have both. The reverbs in v1 already sounded like they were coming from somewhere else, very 3d. I think I especially prefer the tweed sounds on the 1st one, but so far can’t tell the difference on other models aside from what I suspect is needing speaker break-in. That said, as someone willing/happy to gig with this in the right situation the line out (which, annoyingly kills the speaker) and much better footswitch is worth the upgrade. Still unsure if I will hold on the the gen. 1. It’s pretty easy to make space for a good sounding amp/BT speaker… especially so small. Biggest unsolved mystery is getting the looper settings to save between sessions… it always defaults back to click; I want to keep it free.

The Spark 1 has way more top end and the 2 has a more smooth rounded quality. Obviously, both have extensive paths to tone shaping. Great demo and banter. And I loved Lee’s first reactions to the AI tones and the generated chord charts, etc. I had the same reaction. Although, as Lee said, I’m pretty certain that the chord charting will not pick up more complex chords.

AI Smart Jam works on the 40. I actually find it was better on the 40 than the 2, I spend way too long trying to get the AI drummer and bass to play nice with what I'm playing compared to the Spark 40 for whatever reason. The AI tone search is kind of redundant for the same reason, the tonecloud search bar does the same thing but better. I've already commented this on this video but being able to rename your favorite drum loops on the Looper would be an absolute game changer, for some reason it always shuffles the drum loops, even within your favorited ones, so you spend way too long trying to get the right loop for what you're trying to play

That way you can give a much more accurate sound to what people buying the amp are going to get. No one is going to close mic these to record into a daw or anything like that

I have a Spark 40 and a Spark GO (and some "real" tube amps that are just really heavy and loud, that seldom get used anymore). I'm considering picking up the Spark 2 and handing down the Spark 40 to my son who is beginning to get into playing guitar.

At first look it’s much better than Nux Mighty Space bc of the lower price and the looks… but it turns out that all the extra accessories are sold separately, which is not the case with the Nux where you get all the goodies included with the purchase. And the prices of individual accessories for the Spark are hefty. If you buy the footswitch, the battery and the transmitter/receiver you’re much over the budget of the Nux. So this begs the question: which is better? I’d love to see a comparison video on these two and maybe other competitors 😃

The drive tones on the 2 are fizzier. The cleans are quite nice. Both the 1 and 2 really struggle with the edge of breakup and lower gain drive sounds, though.

Live in L.A. John Mayer's rythm guitarist did play through a Matchless honestly. Apart from the intro and solo to "Slow dancing in a burning room" the majority of the melody comes from that Matchless. SO maybe the Spark is on to something there...

I bought myself one of these and I enjoy it. But I do find that a lot of the higher gain stuff sounds a bit phoney... And if you use it as a Bluetooth speaker, it is just massively bassy.

Thanks for the video guys. I bought one the other week and love it. Bit disappointed that the speakers mute when you use the line out. I was hoping this wouldn’t be the case. Any idea if there is a way around that?? Thanks again

I've yet to hear a sparkly clean tone from any demo of this amp. And I wonder if it's because this is also a bass amp, which has beefier driver requirements than a guitar. I once stuck a tweeter into a bass combo to get more brightness for slapping. It sounds like that would help this thing for guitar cleans 😂

Spr is really cool. Love the Mini. I would upgrade only when is it possible to load IR's. Thats the feature I'm looking for. But the Looper is cool!

Is it too loud for a normal bedroom? Will the speakers move the sound at low volume?

I tried one for a few days to see if I'd like it as a cheap alternative to the THR30II I use at work for practice and it felt like they added a lot and spent a lot of time and money adding AI features, but the sound still isn't there, it doesn't sound any better than the original did, just louder and with more features, none of which makes it sound better just make it a bigger software package

Valid point, but not sure it's a fair comparison, given the THR is so much more expensive. They're in different price brackets entirely.

The THR amps sound amazing but they're overpriced imo. The THR30II is £429 new and has less power, smaller speakers and lacks a lot of effects compared to the Spark.

@@rupe82 I'll take quality over quantity anyday. 150 amps doesn't mean anything if they all sound mid at best compared to 15 different great sounding amps. Same with effects, what's hundreds of effects good for if they are all mediocre compared to 3-4 solid implementations. And the speakers, the the may have smaller speakers, but they sound more full than the extremely bass heavy sound of the sparks modeling and speaker array that is a constant negative in every review of it

@@BryanMiranda96 They've fixed the bass problem with the Spark 2 as mentioned in the video.

Can anyone please answer. Having created a Smart Jam, is it possible to edit the chords? For example, what if I played the verse but then wanted to edit the chorus chords to change the backing?
