I think that anyone who got their hands in the 80s on a MIJ Fender, knew instantly that these were great instruments. Only the people on the sideline, who had never seen or played them, probably didn't think highly of them. But Fender Japan made fantastic guitars from the get-go. Even modern-day Fender Japan guitars are highly regarded and rightfully so. And I can speak from experience having both a Fender USA and a Fender MIJ Tele.

around the 4:00 mark. What as called a Standard in the 80s (Made in USA), became the "American Standard" in the 90s, while the "Standard" was then made in Mexico. "American Standard" was eventually changed to become "American Series" for about 8 years, 2000-2008, before reverting back to American Standard until it became the "American Professional" in 2017. It's not really shocking that it's difficult to keep up lol

What I didn’t love was the tone I heard from each one that I wasn’t able to eliminate with eq modifications. Now we can just use any acoustic IR we want or choose not to use any IR. I know I was sounding like a broken down record regarding S5, but I think the writing in the final Season is superb. What a brilliant follow up to the fantastic Lineage, again we have the Angel/Spike rivalry reignited, with Spike back to carporeal form, and just revelling in his solid state. when he walks into the door it's pure belly laugh slapstick. Once back in this form Angel and Spike's centuries old resentment comes back with Eve leading them on over Shanshu prophecy. Sirk tells them of The Cup Of Perpetual torment, and the feud goes into overdrive with a brilliant fight scene, fuelled to by the flashbacks of Spike seeing Drusilla and Angel having sex. Even though Spike is victorious, it us a hollow victory as the Cup was a fake and Sirk gone. A brilliant ending with Eve slowly making her way to bed only for Lindsay to be the driving force behind all this mayhem, a great link back to S1E1 with Lindsay introduced in the Pilot and back yet again for more double crosses and betrayals. Super writing and another great episode to follow too. S5 of Angel contained some of the best episodes ever in The Buffyverse.
When the Acoustasonic gets to the Squier range then it might be worth looking at.

@3:31 It started with The Originals but they had to change it because there was another group called The Originals. So they became The New Originals. The other Originals changed their name to the Regulars, but instead of just going back to the Originals, they settle on The Thamesmen.

You know how there are like a million Fender tshirts out there? They should make Squier ones. Squier has become cooler than Fender, to me. I guess the Squier tshirt would cost half as much, with better quality fabrics, too.

I really like that it’s made by Cor-Tek

Say farewell to the cheap Squier series (debut, sonic, bullet, affinity)...
@rocket692184 сағат бұрын
I think maybe the opposite, they'll rename the classic vibes 'Fender Classics' or something and the only Squiers will be the dirt cheap ones.
@CarlYota2 сағат бұрын
Nah. There will always be an entry level squier. Unless fender wants to surrender that market to other companies it’s literally the guitar that everyone starts on. I don’t think fender wants everyone’s first guitar to be a HB strat copy. They just came out with a near $100 Amazon version to try to keep hold of the market segment.

I mean.. they’re made in the same factory as the SE prs guitars? Sign me up. The folks in that factory know how to make a guitar.

i dont understand who these are for... your paying 100 bones for a fender decal instead of a CV squier?
@perekman35703 сағат бұрын
A bit higher degree of quality control and resale value, maybe?
@CarlYota2 сағат бұрын
It’s for people who want a fender and aren’t that knowledgeable about guitar specs. They don’t realize it’s just squier with a sticker on it.

Poplar+Indian Laurel for 650 eur (Thomann prices) its not worse... Better to buy Fender Player II for 200 eur more with Alder body and rosewood fretboard.
@CarlYota2 сағат бұрын
Oh, so you figured it out. The purpose is to upsell you to more profitable products. Now half the people that would have bought a CV are gonna justify buying a MIM instead. Funny how this stuff works. A to C is too much. But if I offer you B then it’s no problem.

This is the one I would buy, why couldn’t they do it in Mexico???
@CarlYota2 сағат бұрын
Because the Mexican ones are $800.

When they discontinued the ‘Standard’ moniker it was because when you looked up “American Standard “ on the web the first thing that came up was bathroom vanities, toilets etc. Or so Fender said at the time.

I think this is a solid move by Fender. This is a great entry point into Fender and an excellent modding platform.
@CarlYota2 сағат бұрын
This is a squier. The only difference is the headstock sticker. Everything you said was true, and has been said, about squier for decades. This $600 guitar is no better a modding platform than a $300 squier. And if you happen to change the neck then the branding means nothing anyway.

There's sooo many used player strats out there now, I guarantee nobody will give me more than $450 for mine right now, you're better off getting a barely played Player strat. The cheaper acoustic tele is what more people probably wanted, and makes more sense.
@CarlYota2 сағат бұрын
Yeah people absolutely should always look at used gear first. You end up getting the same thing for much cheaper. Most people do not smash thier musics instruments against the wall. Used gear is typically in a good condition.

in the 2000s and early to mid 2010s there where two standard lines. The simple Fender Standard which was mexican, which should be todays players until maybe 8 years ago. And Also American Standard Which is the pro now.
