Jason, as well as other Millennial guitarists like Mateus Asato, Yvette Young, Sarah Longfield, Ichika Nito or Tosin Abasi, are proof that the art of guitar is safe and well. That's crazy about the Train of Thought album being his intro to this style of playing because I remember something similar happening to me back when I was in college. This shows how much older I am as compared to Jason but I had been playing guitar for a year or so mostly playing covers of rock and nu metal bands when I heard that album. It was my first introduction to Dream Theater and that lead to me discovering many other progressive rock/metal bands over the years. Sadly I never really learned to play like any of them but I learned enough to be able to have a deeper appreciation for what they were doing musically.
