Does anyone else just watch Andertons videos for entertainment now. I mean it's nice that there's shiny gear too, but that's not why I am here.
@Chris_Nouvelli4 сағат бұрын
Yeh similar to old Top Gear - I’m not looking for a new car in that moment - I just want to see people that entertain me with cool gear.
@Deedeo254 сағат бұрын
Exactly. I’m in no need to up my at home rig but I knew this video would be fun to watch and just listening to these pros jam is very inspiring too. Although I was interested in both pieces of gear Rabea was using in this vid.

Yep! 😊

Yeah I do. Extremely rare that I even consider buying any gear in the last few years (dad life, no time/money/space!) but Andertons often provides good geeky light entertainment.

Lee asked how much he wanted to spend. So it sounded more like Rabea wasn’t 100% what his options were so he asked Lee for help.

I thought Bea was allowed to choose his own amp, Lee? 😂
@cirisirpula1522 сағат бұрын
But he kind of did? He wanted a modeler. Yes, Lee suggested Valeton, but it is not like he didn't want it. The other one he considered, Bea himself said it would have been too expensive.

I absolutely adore the Valeton GP200. Seeing guitarists like Nathania Jualim touring the world with it playing in front of thousands using nothing but a guitar and the Valeton shows how we just obsess over brands too much.

I went Pete's route when I was broke (Guitar + Amp + booster pedal), later then added the Valeton GP200LT when I had some extra money. I didn't leave my room for months because I was having a great time. great video it's relatable in real life

Always fun hanging with the guys. I think either of those rigs are pretty cool, but in the end, I prefer a Spark just for the fact it has its own speakers. The Valeton does a great job at its price range, but i hate using my computer speakers to hear myself. I have a Spark Mini, and it's the best thing in its price range. The guitar Rabbea chose is sweet, so half a point goes to each side in this challenge.
@chriscolabella8802 сағат бұрын
I feel like Anderton's actually read my comment from their previous video about doing challenges like this in the store rather than scrolling through the website. They are an online retailer who feels like a music shop where you have a great relationship with the staff and owner. That's their USP. I've spent thousands with them because of that. Videos like this are what create that feeling. More please.

With the spark, Pete really only needed a looper and the spark 2 has that so he could have saved 145 and spent a little more on the guitar, but I really don't think you could beat the versatility of the valeton and that soloking is awesome. I think Lee definitely picked the better rig for the money.

@jamiedarcy24624 сағат бұрын
I'm giving the win to Rabea! The rig is more versatile and anyone could get a sound with it whether they wanted to play country or death metal! Pete's rig isn't going to cut it when it comes to the heavier stuff!

I have a Valeton GP100 that I got for taking along on trips. I recently replaced it with a Two Notes Opus that I like a lot better.
@IanLoughead3 сағат бұрын
If you're a kid and want to form a band then Pete's rig is the better choice. The speaker isn't the best but it is darn good enough to get you learning to pay with others. If you need to gig with all your stuff then Rabea's rig makes a lot of sense. Better guitar and you can actually dial in your sound.
@daveharris811530 минут бұрын
Based on current prices, I'd go for the Valeton GP-200LT @ £200, and the Jackson JS32 DKA Archtop @ £300.

My choice would be a Hotone Ampero 2 Stomp ( but just over budget) or ToneX One + a few ToneCity drive pedals (ToneX will have delay and modulation) and a good pair of headphones. The best sound quality for the money in my opinion.

If you have a computer already..... I´d go with a Scarlett solo + a Neural DSP plugin and spend the rest on a guitar.

It's amazing how many people go expensive amp cheap guitar. I'd do the opposite, I'd spend 300-400 on a guitar and then just plug into positive grid or something. Am i missing something?

I'd go Behringer UMC22 (£36 on Andertons) + Amplitube 5 (around £100) and get the best guitar (or bass) I can get for £364, like a nice Ibanez, and then play on my PC (on which I can record and have anything in the background)

Everyone phreaking out because Lee helped him find his rig needs to chill out instead. He was only trying to help make things more fair because like he said, Pete has had a chance to play literally everything in the shop- Rabea hasn't, not even close. He had no idea what kind of stuff was available in that range that would compete with Pete's rig. Lee just helped him find a few options, he made the final choice. Besides, imo- he won- I thought his parts sounded better. His gear may not have won, but he did- he stumped Pete. The closer and closer they got to shredding, the more he sounded better- that's not Pete's thing.

500 is meaningless.... Insane to buy new gear on low budget
@AvidEric3 сағат бұрын
Guys... you title the video "Rig for UNDER £500". If the multi effect-pedal is 270 then there's not "250ish" to play with for a guitar. Also, part of a rig is the cable - make that another 10. So Rabea's rig is not under 500, it's £530. That's 6% more than the absolute max and even then it would not be "under" 500. As for Pete... 100 for the guitar, 280 for the Spark, 100 for the looper and 45 for the Durple pedal - also a tenner for the cable here. That's £535 for Pete's rig and while at least close to Rabea's rig, 7% above the absolute max. Why don't you name the video "Best Home Guitar Rig for Under £540" and at least be honest about it? Would be nice if you'd actually stick to the task - or use a non-misleading title for the video.
@derelictconfusion94982 сағат бұрын
It would be a lovely idea if they offered both rigs for 500 as a nice Christmas compromise
