Locking tuners are for easy string changes when you have a locking nut with a trem. On a regular hardtail it for running stability & fast re-stringing. Great feature to have on any guitar

True story, I would totally rock locking tuners on my floyd guitars just for that little extra time savings on string changes.
@jonsick445
@jonsick445 Жыл бұрын
I actually replaced the locking tuners on my two E-II guitars with standard Grovers. The locking tuners weren't quicker in reality, looked far too bulky and it was annoying that if you accidentally overtighten just a smidge when locking up, it would slice the string in two which may or may not mean it's totally useless. And to be honest, locking nut, no tuning stability issues full stop. I'm really not a fan of locking tuners on anything.

It's fascinating to me how guitarists often jump to the components of a guitar that have the *least* impact on sound as an explanation for why it sounds a certain way (ex. type of wood, bolt-on vs set neck vs neck through). Not saying these things can't impact tone at all but the most obvious explanation for why the two single coils in parallel don't sound like a strat is that these are not strat pickups. Simple as that. Even pickup height has a drastic impact on tone but that's another thing that's often overlooked, probably because it's more fun to theorize about which branches of a maple tree produce the best tone or whatever.

@@channtastic with how good epiphones are getting + the fact that they're more structurally sound due to them having a 14 degree angle, which improves tuning stability as well, Youre probably better off just buying one of those and replacing the pickups if you REALLY need to change them both even tho theyre pretty good on their own, for a fraction of a gibson les paul standard. I CAN'T HELP BUT SAY THIS! I've been watching Andertons videos for almost a decade now and it's ALL because of the bright, outgoing personalities. Weather it was Chappers, Captain, Bea or Pete. These guys bring FUN. And you can see that they are having fun. Joss had that too. Now.. I do respect the new additions to the team too. But videos with them just often feel kinda awkward. Mostly it's Captain that does the talking, there is no room for joking around, being relaxed.. Maybe I'm wrong. Idk. But anyway. ALL the respect to everyone working on these videos. @@Relayer6a Really? I can think of at least 3 things: solid body, scale length, single coils. "Not remotely similar" would be a ukelele with a piezo. They finally fixed the volume knob placement. I've bought/sold numerous USA Soloists and could never get around the knob placement on the USA models.

A locking nut is for staying in tune once the string is in tune. A locking tuner is for getting into tune quickly. If you have to change strings on a Floyd Rose guitar, every couple of seconds of hassle you can save are a blessing.

really want a soloist with a hard tail but it turns out they only made a few of them in like 2004-2005 with emg as standard. those were nice guitars.

Jackson didn’t exist before Randy. The Jackson guitar Randy created with them was the Concord, and that guitar started the brand and was the first guitar to have the Jackson Logo. He had them make him that guitar AFTER Karl Sandoval build him his Polka Dot V, and right before they went on the road for the Diary Of A Madman tour. Just to clarify

I know who you are really referring to, however, I am making the choice to believe that you are referring to Randy Jackson, American idol judge. Gonna be a no from me, dawg.

I have a Washburn from the time of those with a wonderbar. I never really got into Floyd guitars because I was always bad at it and never used them
