Really excited for people to try this thing. It’s impossible for you all to really get a vibe for this thing without trying it. Especially with so little content on the tubes! But I’m sure all the content will drop in due course! For those comparing to all the others, I just think try one, to see which you feel suits you best. But to my ear and feel as a guitarist, it’s feel is beyond anything I’ve tried by quite a way. for me that’s one of the most important elements when I’m trying a modeller. The tone sculpting is so painless, and I’m really happy with the sounds I’ve found in it so far! The capture is insane, that’s definitely a must try! As I said, can’t wait for you all to the one!

richard kruspe from rammstein once explained it perfectly in an interview, the problem with amp simulations is that the devices cannot reproduce the after swinging of a guitar cab because it requires a lot of cpu power. I think that's exactly that feeling thing that many amp players criticize
@StuartNevilleBooks4 жыл бұрын
I'm a little surprised at how the noise gate was used here. A compressor won't "add" noise in itself, it'll simply raise the noise that's already there. If the noise gate is placed at the very start of the chain, it eliminates noise at the source, and the compressor has nothing to raise, so everything will be silent. Plus, you won't get that huh-huh-huh effect at the end of a note. Aside from that, though, a good demo. I'm really interested in this unit for when I get back to gigging. I have a full-fat Helix, but it's too bulky for the fly-in gigs I do, so it stays at home. The QC's compact form factor really appeals. I'd very much like to hear some mid-gain tones demoed at some point.
@dimitrioslachanis23204 жыл бұрын
The gate's placement was totally wrong, surprised the guys missed this. It should either be first in the chain or right after the amp block, it should never be placed after the time/space effects, unless you go for the gated reverb result intentionally.
@BrunodeSouzaLino4 жыл бұрын
This is customary of people that don't understand how compressors work. A compressor compresses dynamic range, making quiet sound louder and loud sounds quieter. They're thinking a compressor is a distortion pedal or something.
@victorbicudo13744 жыл бұрын
compressors do not "simply raise the noise that's already there", unless you use make-up gain, wich has nothing to do with compression. Compression only reduces gain that get past the treshold, by a certain ratio, and that's it.

I've been using the Helix in 4CM with Synergy. The modules that Synergy has are just incredible! That is my main rig running in stereo and it slays! That said, I can't wait to get my hands on one of these. I'm in the US and Sweetwater is the only place I think you can get them and they're $1599 US. Thanks for the video! Besides that just play live through like 2 amps and create your own sound is just amazing. With kemper you would need to have a merged profile or re-amping through different profiles

I think pedals+amps+mics will always have a place in the same way modular synthesizers have a place; it's a different way of interfacing with your gear that puts you in a different headspace and can lead to different unexpected sounds. The devices by Neural and Fractal Audio and Line 6 are more like pulling up a patch on an Hydrasynth or Prophet 12 and tweaking it -- totally fun too, but in a different way.

To my rather novice ears, this doesn't seem to sound as good as some of the other units in that space, but I really like what they did with the interface - the dual function buttons/knobs is a great idea. Dialing things with a physical encoder often works much better than trying to do such things on a touch screen. That was smart of them. :) Edit - Also, shouldn't the noise gate be plumbed into the signal chain before the delay and reverb, and maybe even right after the compressor, to avoid interfering with those effects?

Right. Until I can compare this thing and the kemper back to back I will be cautious to say anything about how it sounds. I'd bet a year or two from now, when they've had time to catch up to Kemper and Fractal, they'll be owning the market with the sound quality and options. They just need a bit of time now.
@inevitableveganfuture39154 жыл бұрын
That's a weird statement, because Fractal is continuously developing improvements and we don't know if Kemper have something up their sleeve. It's difficult to gauge the future, professionals are still using the AxeFX and Kemper Profiler. Neural DSP definitely has the advantage of aggressive paid promotion right now though.

Based solely on Rabea's SLO capture: I have a Kemper with the Michael Britt SLO profiles. It is my favorite amp and my favorite tone. This QC unit sounds good. Very good, even. Having said that, I heard nothing that makes me want to run out and get this to replace my current gear. Think about this for a second. All of these social media influencers like Rabea, Pete Thorn, Andy Martin, Brett Kingman, et al. Have you ever seen them demo a piece of gear that they did not rave about?

@@ChristopherTumminello thats an optimistic scenario.. only discernibe if you are already experienced, how many youtubers can you trust? and always? sometimes they don't lie but they avoid to face the raw and plain truth. like when rabea was talking on the kemper. Yep, almost all of these demos/reviews on KZbin or any social media platform are considered cheap marketing by the companies that make these products. And if you want to get free stuff you talk up the positives and downplay the negatives so that you keep getting offered free stuff. Wouldn't most people feel obligated to say something nice about a product they received for free and that will draw more traffic to their videos? A little correction: AFAIK strictly speaking it is not quad core. To my best knowledge this unit uses two separate ADSP-SC589 processors. Each one is a dual-core 500 Mhz DSP. So yeah, 4 separate cores, but not quad core and not 2 GHz. But don't worry, it does not mean it will be bad or obsolete. Specs doesn't mean everything. KPA has much less processing power. Efficient coding can go a very long way. Anyway, it sounds good. Competition is a good thing for us players.
@ontheroad5794 жыл бұрын
Well, it's kind of acceptable to call Quad-core if it has 2x2, because 2x2=4 cores. What is complete nonsense is the 2GHz thing.
