Everyone loves Jack (which of course he’s amazing!) but Ben is underrated. Always love when he’s on as well! Great job on the demo. Sampling definitely makes me want one even more.

Kevin Allen nah I haven’t. I have an iPad, PO-33, and Bastl Microgranny for sampling and cant bring myself to spend the $500-$600 this goes for. If I ever see a cheap used one, I might snatch it up.

I never tested the OP-Z but the sample ability is definitely I huge update and makes the OP-Z much more attractive. Nice showcase 👍🏽

Its even better with the ios/android app as you can see the waveform of the full sample and select the area for each note.

Haven't gotten around to doing any melodic sampling yet and this inspired me to try!

But does Ben show us where he has posted the pre-prepared samples for download? I'm particularly fond of the beer bottle one.

Hello, Tried for days now, really struggling to use my Samsung S8 to output audio to the OPZ in sample mode. Been to Samsung shop, I have my audio output settings on my phone to OPZ via Samsung Smart Things, have USB configuration in Developer Settings to output Audio via USB and sound doesnt leave phone via the speaker or the headphone port when settings are like this, so audio is leaving phone via the usb c port but OPZ does not seem to think that is the default audio input, it still only listens via built in mic or earphones mic when engaged. Thoughts? Has anyone else successfully used sample mode direct from Samsung S8 into OPZ? My girlfriends Android phone, Huawei P30 works instantly, no settings changed, just the same usb c to usb c and straight away I can sample digital audio into the OPZ, I just need to do the same on my Samsung S8. Do I need a USB OTG cable? Or a seperate app that reroutes the audio leaving my phone or tells the OPZ it is slave to listen not my phone listen to audio FROM OPZ via USB (I dont know if it is doing this however). I am on latest firmware on both OPZ and phone. Help needed pls (mine bought from Andertons) Thanks Myles

Love what this can do but would never, ever, lay out £500 for one... For that kind of money any decent engineer could have coupled it with a keyboard and half-assed quality switches and pots. This is like a ten year old put it together...

Buddy Martin it’s all about the portability I agree the buildchoices are quirky but the work flow is amazing

Hmm seems like you don’t know much about the product, philosophy, or engineering/manufacturing synths in general haha. 😆

at home you can hook up a midi-keyboard / drumpad and whatnot easily - thats what I'm doing and it works fine also with velocity etc - on the road as a device to create stuff while traveling on the plane/train or just away from home I think the OPZ is really really amazing - but I agree its pretty expensive - the workflow however beats most other options (say your phone for example)
