I see the 3 episodes as a 3 act premiere. I love how this series does more showing than telling, and that slow burn you brought up feels very natural to me. Film is a visual medium, so I appreciate these aspects. This is about Cassian become the person we see in R1, so I'm on board; not being bombarded with Jedi, the force, clone/stormtroopers, etc.is refreshing. If the remaining episodes are at the same caliber as these, this is my fav D+ SW live action series.

The opening logo title was so badass and interesting. It sucked you into believing that they were showing a new planet but it was actually the logo of the show popping up with the music playing. You don't see stuff like that very often!

you guys followed it really well. good summation of the episode. not giving us subtitles for the kenari language didn't work for some people, but it definitely sets the show apart.

Cassian's droid actually reminds me a bit of V.I.N.CENT from The Black Hole & Wall-E. I also thought that imagery of that droid rolling through the junkyard reminded me of Wall-E. Honestly, I think or would like to see Lucasfilm doing more stories like this where we see local stories of survival on a solitary planet during the Empire's reign and the effect The Empire has on that planet. That was actually what I thought the original plan was for the Anthology Star Wars movies, just seeing local war stories of survival and local war stories of survival & rebellion on individual planets.

This is the most adult Star Wars series I've seen. I've not seen any of the animated ones. There won't be any cute babies in this one .

So bby 5 so five years before the battle of yavin The rain and lights over the walk way reminds me of blade runner Nobody gives their real name showing this dark noir like show you can’t be totally honest and truthful. All those saps used to build a new fleet for the empire. Bunch of metal Star Wars galaxy has a big boar just like that So it takes more power for that droid to lie? Lol That welding mask looks like part of a droid head. Love the kids preparing with war paint.
