Andre Hazes is a legend in the Netherlands. He died in 2004 age 53. He was the king of "songs of life", most of all singalongs. Hazes Junior sings here a cover of his father. Other big hits of Andre were: Een beetje verliefd, De vlieger, kleine jongen, wij houden van oranje (anthem Euro 88) and many many more....

Are you referring to this comment? I had to dig it up to find it, and it is appreciated 👍

When you go to a cafe in the Netherlands and they play an André Hazes song you will hear every single Dutch person singing loudly in unison. Especially after we have consumed a few beers. In this case it was the son singing his fathers song who died 10 years before this episode. Most other singers on the cough knew his dad, André Hazes sr and got emotional remembering him.

I love that you also react to the Netherlands even you have no idea what they are talking or singing about. Thank you for that! ♥

Here a quick Google translation: I close my eyes and think And then everything passes through me Then I see my whole life I enjoyed it a lot But also cried a lot But I will never regret that It was always drinks and friends around me There were always parties But it was life, the way I wanted it then That's what I chose We sometimes carried on The nights were long Then you fell straight into bed Not a cent in my pocket, not a crumb left in the house But you still kept laughing I look back now, and yet I have no regrets Those were good years because of what I did I never hurt anyone with it It's my own life I don't understand why anyone else Is so concerned about it It's my life, the way I want to live it I never argue Now leave me alone I live my life the way I want to I don't interfere with anyone else, do I? I live my life the way I want to Let me go before I change now Let me go now, let me go now, oh I look back now, and yet I have no regrets Those were good years because of what I did I never hurt anyone with it It's my own life I don't understand why anyone is Is so concerned about it It's my life, the way I want to live it I never argue Now leave me alone I live my life the way I want to I don't interfere with anyone else, do I? I live my life the way I want to Let me go before I change now Let me go now, let me go now, oh You should know that his father was a highly sensitive man that lived a colorful life with it's ups and downs. He died at a quite young age due to his lifestyle and is regretted by many in the Netherlands. His genre was "het levenslied" (the song of live) that often depicts the shadow side of life in an emotional way.

André jr was doing a cover of his father's song. His father, a very famous dutch singer, died at a young age due to alcohol abuse. His son sounds the same and has a similar carrière.
