Joe Cocker was one of the greatest performers (singers) in rock history. His performance at Woodstock was magical - arguably the best performance at the festival. The man is a legend. It is a disgrace that he IS NOT in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Dire Straits and Joan Baez are? You're got to be kidding me!Question: How can you possibly have a Rock Hall of Fame without Joe Cocker? Answer: You can't... it's a Hall of Shame!

My dad used to sing this to me before bed when I was a kid. He passed away 3 or 4 years ago, and I realized that spot it left on my heart would always hurt, so I spent alot of time and effort protecting it, putting a shell around that hole and hardening it, just to make sure I could get through each day. I just a stumbled upon this video link surfing from John Belushi videos, and the moment he started singing, it instantly hit that spot I’ve been protecting. I’m happy it did, it’s a reminder I haven’t hardened it by forgetting, but damn if it didn’t hurt. This song is powerful. Go tell your folks you love them if you still can, and give them a big hug.

Unfortunately, my mom passed from the same exact disease as he did. It's a horrid thing for the person to go through. Small cell lung cancer is terminal even in it's first stage. It's a direct result of smoking. Please, if any young people are reading this *do not smoke, do not vape* Back in the day, we did not have a lot of the resources, knowledge, research and information like we have at our fingertips, instantly today. Never take that for granted. *Take care of yourselves and each other ALWAYS* Let's stomp out smoking in this generation. It's toxic poison. 🚫 🚬 🤢☠

The power and passion along with the facial expressions are enough to give a dead man chills and believe me I gotten plenty of chills from Joe over the years but I really think they were a lot more intense with this performance. Yes, the first music that was given to me when I was 14 was Chicago, but i was fortunate enough to be able to take it back to the shop. The man in the shop who allowed the return knew what i wanted and gave me Joe. It would not matter what his obvious faults were, and he detailed them well, as people with "no" faults were never as genuine as Joe. A rare man. I have often found it disappointing that more people cannot understand his gift as it would teach them so much about how to be truly genuine.

I saw a recent biography on Joe’s life. He was a remarkable man! They interviews with his family members, they said after he went to Woodstock in ‘69, he was never the same. They say he met and partied with us heroes. He took too much LSD one time, and he never fully recovered like he was before. Not that that is bad, he was still happy and still Joe!!! I saw him in concert, the Friday after 9-11 happened, in Philadelphia. He opened for ‘the Guess Who’, and he blew them away, in my opinion, but I’m partial to Joe anyway. He has Never sung a bad song. Even if the song was bad, Joe made it Great! ✌🏻❤️🦋

Joe looks completly authentic to me, a true tortured soul. I Guess he had a problem with alcohol because of an extraordinary sensible Heart and mind. Nobody says those words better than he does.

I am a 66 year old belgian and saw him first time on tele with his legendary version of "with a little help from my friends". He was pretty wild on stage then. I liked his spastic way of singing. Real weird but he sings from the heart, real passionate. I am surprised he became 70, cuz I think he had a real drug and alcohol problem, and apparently he suffered from depression too.
