I love Joe Cocker so much. I was able to meet him by chance in Crawford, Colorado, where he and his wife had a house. I was so happy to approach him shyly and just say, "Mr. Cocker, you have enhanced my life with your music. I love you so!" His response was so heartfelt. He said, "thank you! You made my day, darlin'." I'll never forget it.

Classic!! I was a teen when this came out.....it was as beautiful then as it is now. The simplicity of this song delivers the message in such a strong way. Joe Cocker could not have done this better. RIP Joe.....thank you for the good music and being a part of my youth. May 20, 1944 - December 22, 2014

Joe Cocker is so wonderful. I saw him in 2000 on the Tina Turner 24/7 Farewell Tour. He was her opening act. When he sang With A Little Help From My Friends, and You Are So Beautiful, the crowd lost their minds. Thanks for the post.

I was the interpreter for him and his crew during what must have been the Marseille leg of this tour. The Régional Cultural office I worked for was sponsoring. It was absolutely unforgettable. Joe was delightful and patient with all the politicos who wanted to meet him. He was paid for 90 min, sang WAY longer than that … and finished with this. A very very fond memory❤

Of course you are so right kaboemskii, if this guy was on Britain's got Talent he would be laughed off immediately - BUT - for some God unknown reason we all love him & that's just the way it is lol When my grandson was born we took him to bathe him, & this is the song that was playing from the hospital radio, my daughter & I cried - so emotional! It was perfect timing! I bought the album for my Grandson's keepsake box :) God Bless you Joe Cocker x

Joe...sings with his whole body...which is the way he should. I think it's beautiful and it adds to the feeling of the song. How do you know he's drunk and high? If he can sing this well high and drunk...go ahead! If you aren't moved by the song and the delivery...then don't watch it. I love it and it's unfair to him...but each to his own! Pure talent...no faking it.

This was a song that my Dad used to play all the time. He passed away when I was 24 I don't relate the song to him and me. But I always listen to the song and it reminds me of him. When I was 32 I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and my partner was 7 months pregnant. I made it through and my daughter was born ❤️ I am now 52 and my daughter has just turned 20. This song has been with me all of my life. I don't know why my dad liked it so much. But I know that he made me like the song, and i could not have written a better song for my daughter ❤️

Around 1974, I pulled into a parking lot, late at night. I was a computer tech for Honeywell in Columbus, Ohio. I was on a call. I had the radio on. I had bought Joe's Mad Dogs and Englishmen. Loved it. Then, 'suddenly', I heard this song. Wow.

Phrasing, delivery, emotion. It's all there. His roughness belies the soft soul inside. He is so against type and it's all the more beautiful for it. His performance is an anthem to and for incomplete hearts. Rarefied work. A one of.

Ok Guys... here's the real deal on Joe Cocker: He is NOT drunk, or druged (though he did have a drug problem for a long time... has been clean since mid 90's). Although his movements are spastic in nature (Always has), he is one of the most soulful, charismatic and original singer/interpreters out there, even after 35 years. His iterpretations of clasic Beatles standards are truly immortal. Many TRY to imitate... never quite get it... imitations never do!
