Mason Ruacho most people just wanna beat someone up don't they so they get put in with someone who goes to the body gives them a taste of that life and see how serious they're about boxing
@thedarkknight6464 жыл бұрын
Mason Ruacho sometimes my gym kinda does it just to see what the person is made of if they say they want to compete and (they already signed the waiver). Whether you agree with it or not the trainers will find out right away whether they should take you serious by seeing if you can take a punch or not and what kind of heart you have when you’re about to be out in a situation with adversity. The guys in my gym know these people are not skilled and have been cool about it though and don’t beat up on them too bad unless they do something where it’s warranted.
@thedarkknight6464 жыл бұрын
Grim Reaper that’s happened to a new guy (at the time) at my he was a wild brawler type and had very little training but he was bigger than the kid he was sparring so after the round the trainer put someone else in their that was experienced and also closure to the guy’s size and he tried to bully him like he did the smaller kid and he got dropped with hard liver shot because he didn’t respect the other guy’s skill and was being overly aggressive and trying to brawl. Truly a humbling experience for him I’d say.

Ward was such a great fighter! As he said he used his feet just enough to make you miss! Athleticism leaves u (Ali, Ray Leonard, Roy Jones). But skilled feet last, it doesn't have to be that fast if it's used at the right time (Andre Ward, James Toney, Floyd Mayweather, Bernard Hopkins) Canelo has good footwork to!

Fighters with no defense are for the casuals. I don't even consider a fighter who has no defense. Look at the fighters who have had longevity in the game (Klitscho, Ward, Sugar Ray Robinson,Mayweather, Fury, Ali,Holmes, Lewis.etc),they all had and have Good defense. For me you can't even be considered a boxer without a good defense (And a great chin is not good defense).

Andre ward is the goat in my eyes and I'm sure many of you will disagree but this man has probably lost 10 rounds at the very most in his whole career and this wasn't against scrubs either, his opponents have a combined win percentage of 90 percent. His opposition was actually great fighters that didn't have much popularity outside of their home countries and Ward put a clinic in all of those fights. Another fun fact: he hasn't lost a fight since he was 12 years old. People will never take that title away from Ray Robinson though because of Nostalgia.

if anyone has ever played league of legends, footwork in boxing is just like zoning/ positioning in that game. when you understand what your opponent wants to do and what range he wants to get at in order to do it then you have some idea of what can and might happen. If you can manipulate that then you have a great degree of control over what happens, you can make it predictable

A few of the guys I fought actually wound up taking lessons from me, because I always treated them with respect, despite the fact, I was beatin' their heads in.
