A walk around look at Andrea's 1947 Chevrolet truck she wanted for yard art. But is it to good for that?

The knob with the T is the throttle. The plate on the left door jamb is in the correct place. It should have the serial number. There were no V.I.N. numbers back then. When looking on the internet for info on these trucks, knowing that they were referred to as “advanced design” trucks may help. There seemed to be some overlapping of designations according to what was ordered. Different wheelbases were available. Many parts are available from the aftermarket. I.E. all of the interior cardboard. Nobody builds a truck with this much inherent integrity now. Have fun.Thanks for the videos and take care.

For all those things that need lubricated, mix up a 50-50 mix of acetone and automatic transmission fluid... It's dirt cheap to make and outperforms even the most expensive brands on the market... Give it a try, you won't be disappointed... Love the old girl, take care of her...

My Dad bought and restotred a 51 Intetnational L110 Pickup about 10 or 15 years ago... It looked nice once he got her restored but eventually sold her because he got sick and tired of having to double clutching it all of the time... Lol😅!!

Wish I had a pic of it.. He painted it 2 tone light and dark Green and I think it looked pretty sharp!!

Paint it a White/Red two tone to match your White and Red Trucks and Corvettes..

Thanks Mike. Really cool find, and would be a great restoration project. If it doesn't run, then it will be garden art, just needs protecting from further deterioration. If it does run then, how far do you go, it's earned all its battle scars over 77 years. It will be great to see what you do with it. Mike from Lancashire 🇬🇧

1) get her running...2) Restore her... 3)Add Kenny's rack to the rear and 4) paint on the doors "Mike And Andrea's Garage.. Specializing in Peterbilts,Kenworths and Corvettes"... Fred Sanford would be proud.. lol😅!!

That is a 1 1/2 ton considering the 11,000 lb GVW. and short wheelbase, I have a 49 6400 heavy duty 2 ton. on a 167" wheelbase and has a 16,000 GVW, The light duty has press in front bearing caps, and ball bearings. While the heavy duty has bolt on bearings covers, and barrel bearings.

Thank you foe the info. I've been having a hard time figuring it out. Especially with the Vin plate missing.
@sixinarow1Ай бұрын
@@mikesgarage6331 My 49 only had the info plate, it told the GVW and had a number on it, but it wasn't the vin number. In Oregon they used the engine number on the title. That caused me a lot of headaches since the original engine was long gone.
