I can't believe this song didn't 't make it into the top ten! I like this song even better than "More, more, more".Also she wasn't a "one hit wonder" because 4 of her songs got on the charts. None matched the height of "More" of course, but they still made the charts.

Basically, More More More became huge at the same time Andrea True did, by the time she released a record with More, More, More on the A side and NY You Got Me Dancing on the B side, word had spread about Andrea True being a porn star, and her music fame waned after that. Incredibly ironic because the song itself is about asking people how they like their sex, but apparently the singer doing it in real life was crossing a line back then.

How could anyone not love this, this is classic early disco before it exploded on the radio and in clubs all over the world.

First heard the 12" version of this at THe End Up SF when they still had the Saturday Night Fever dance floor. That floor didn't last long because of scuffs, and a wooden dance floor was installed. Why don't good things last!

Awesome, didn't think a performance of New York existed. Such a terrific song, frenetic and fast-paced, though it's a bit hard to understand Andrea's vocals in part of the song. I've always wondered what exactly she was singing in the bit that leads up to the chorus of the song.

I completely agree with you. Years ago (before you could find this info out on the Internet), I bought the sheet music, to figure out what she was saying. I was very disappointed to find out the lyrics were what I thought they were - despite having no logic in the song. The lead up to the chorus has her singing - Don'tcha beware, Don'tcha beware - Keep on dancing.

That's how I hear them, but those lyrics make absolutely no sense. Then again, I've also heard some of them as "What should we wear", which does make a bit more sense, at least for the last verse where she sings about the various discos .
