Girl, a warning about the Kosas foundation.. I didn't use mine for 3 or 4 months, and when I pulled it out to try it again when the weather cooled off, it smelled like a moldy shower curtain and nasty feet!! 🤢 It goes off SO FAST. No ma'am, never again!

The same thing happened with me with the haus labs bronzer and what fixed my issue with the patchiness was using a different brush. Since I noticed that it was a more cream to powder I used my dual fiber kabuki brush that I normally use with my cream blush and it went on super pretty

I love the brown Essence eye liner for a natural lined look! It’s not something you can get a good wing with, but it’s perfect for just laying down along the lash line for a little definition!

You know what I found out this year with mascara…if you love a mini and then buy the big one it can perform differently and Vice versus. I hated the Rare Beauty mascara mini but when I got the big one in a makeup box it works amazing. I don’t know if it’s a manufacturing thing or what but it’s true!

I’ve actually loved the Colourpop colored liquid liners. I have the two purple toned shades. I use them mostly on their own though, not over other eye makeup, when I wake up late and just want a super quick eye look. They’ve stayed in place really well for me so maybe using them over eyeshadow makes a big difference.

The HUDA concealer works great for me BUT I have to heavily prep my under eye. I use Kiehls avocado eye cream and Becca/smash box color corrector over that (bc it’s so emollient).

I really hate the Caliray mascara. It didn’t make my lashes look bad, but you’re totally right about it being impossible to remove! Part of the appeal of a tubing mascara is ease of removal. Total fail for me! Glad I got the mini, I trashed it after a few uses - definitely not worth the hassle.

Honestly I adore the kosas foundation, it’s one of my favorites. The finish is satin, the coverage is medium, and it lays well on my combo skin. I haven’t had any issues with smell, preservation or anything. But I also live in a cooler climate (Bay Area). Ive had it for like 6 months and it’s still fine

I had ordered the Kosas online and the shade was too light, (Not the foundation's fault and could have been made to work.) The main reason I returned it was it settled into my forehead, crow's feet, and smile lines. I also had a similar experience with Colourpop pretty fresh foundation.

I’m in the same boat with Kosas. I never have any product for long enough to give it a good try before it goes bad. I don’t k ow if it’s because I live in a more humid environment or it takes longer to ship to me from their warehouse but I give up with them!

The worst product I tried this year was the Fenty Eaze Drop Skin Tint. Definitely did not work for my oily, acne-prone skin. Too sheer and glowy for me. Returned after one use!

It definitely felt like a waterproof mascara when trying to get it off. I felt like I was being so rough on my eyes trying to get it off! The Calliray mascara worked well for me and removed super easily just like other tubing formulas. I have drugstore mascaras that I like better, but it did work for me. However, I did start to experience the extreme clumping once it started to dry out. It was a mini.

Not sure how I missed this video on release! I agree on the Caliray mascara. It is the one product that stands out to me this year where I actually tossed it in the trash can. That mascara was just…. No. I’ve been using the Kosas foundation for the last few weeks. I have normal skin and if I don’t use it with a matte base it looks like an oil slick. I use it with the herbivore Aquarius cream and it’s better. I have to give it credit for having me pull out the too faced peach perfect powder again because I love that so much and it does help the foundation to look pretty. That said - I used my go-to Tarte foundcealer yesterday and it just blows the Kosas away for me. Two additional products this year that I didn’t like were the LYS blush - I know a lot of people love it but it was too balmy for me. I think I prefer a firmer or cream to powder type of formula (ie: Ciate Miss Piggy palette, ND dream/Glam face). I am going to go for the ND love or Cupid blush if I want something balmier. Which is rare. And I bought the Sephora brand brown liquid liner to do freckles for Halloween - they were out of actual Freckles product - and it was great for that and Halloween eyebrows. BUT I went to use it for eyeliner and it just doesn’t show up for some reason. It skips and just looks clear or nonexistent in some places even if I go over it. So, inexpensive but also not worth the money when I probably could have gotten a brown from dollar tree or something just for freckles.

Admittedly I didn’t try most of what you talked about. The one brand that I just don’t find works for me is literally one of your all time favorites…Elf. The only 2 products I think are decent are the $2 brow pencil and the Jalapeño Bite Size Quad. The rest has just been ok. I finally broke down and bought the Cookies and Cream Primer and it did absolutely nothing except cause more shine and breakthrough earlier in the day. I also like the UD Green palette but I will say some of the shadows are a little too glittery and make a mess which I don’t like even wetting the brush. Have a Merry Christmas!!

That Kosas lip oil was so bad that it turned me off the brand. I went from curious to absolute “no!” because of that oil. Honestly, Charlotte Tilbury was the brand I kept trying to love. The pressed powder is nice, but not for the price/lasting power. The flawless filter is nice but I’m so oily that I don’t really need to add a “glow”. The quads are so run-of-the-mill overpriced blah. I’ve given up donating my money to the CT Rolls Royce fund. 😅

20:19 No one should be using lip plumpers. They work by literally causing inflammation in your lip tissue. The audacity of the industry to normalize this is outrageous. Consumers can learn to use a dark liner and 2-3 shades of lipstick to create dimension. Top with gloss and you'll have a plump appearing lip.

I just don't understand lip liners that don't dry down and have any degree of lasting power. If I'm wearing a lip liner, I want it to stop any feathering (red lippies are atrocious on me) and I want them to last. Colourpop is the brand I would love to love but don’t. I absolutely love their super shock shadows, but they dry out so fast. They also keep drawing me in with their eyeshadow colors, but I just don’t like their formula. The glitters are cakey and don’t layer well and their mattes are so powdery it gets all over my face. Their concealer is super dry and cracks and their lippie sticks bleed all over my face. But still I keep buying their products because the colors draw me in.

I think you could definitely wear it! I feel like sometimes if you we don't wear something super often it ends up feeling strange or we feel like it doesn't look right on us! I would say try using a soft eyeshadow to try lining your eyes or creating a wing! That might be a good way to work up to using a liquid or pencil liner!

If your eyes are at all hooded, eyeliner will end up looking weird. There are a lot of tutorials on how to work around that. Has dramatically changed my eyeliner game.

The best way to remove any makeup including mascara is baby oil. I’ve given this hack to many friends and not 1 of them ever turn back. Try it but always use a wash, cleanser or wipes after. It’s the best tip I can ever give to remove any, absolutely any makeup! 👌🏻
