The WORST makeup of 2022!

I've been buying some travel sized makeup and skincare this year to try. I've not been a fan of some of the more high end things. Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk mascara smudges a bit on me and the Milk Makeup mascara flakes, I feel like mascaras that pricey shouldn't do that 😅 but mascaras are so personal.

I love brands that offer travel size products! I have almost neverrr used up a full size cosmetic product. Skin and hair, sure but not makeup. I hate throwing away money so I always try to get travel or mini sizes now

I have super sensitive scalp and minor flaking. I have to say the ordinary shampoo seems to be the only shampoo that doesnt irritate my scalp. It seems to do a great job clarifying my scalp and i hv been flake free since i started using it.

I actually really like the REM concealer for my spot concealer. I am a hyper pale redhead and most brand pot concealers like nars and bare minerals are either too dark, too warm, or both. The REM is the first pot concealer that both matches and blends in well to my combo oily skin. Though I do see how it might strugg on other skin types and undereyes.

My biggest gripe with the Ordinary shampoo and conditioner is the tiny amount in the bottles, and they didn't offer refills, and that's so much wasted plastic because you have to buy so many bottles.

My favorite mascara is hourglass unlocked tubing mascara. It has a rubber wand. It gives me long lashes. I would love to find a good drugstore priced tubing mascara. I’ve tried a few and hated them all

I find that my favorite method of doing freckles is using an eyebrow pencil. My favorite one to use for freckles is the nyx micro brow pencil in espresso, it always looks super natural when I tap it a little bit

I was so excited for that REM concealer. Swatched it in store and totally agree with you. I thought "this is SO thick and dry, I can never put this on my over 40 under eyes!" I will continue to look for a more affordable Glossier Stretch Concealer.

I love the worst ones too! It's that satisfying feeling that is the opposite of FOMO. "I don't have to buy that product everyone is talking about! I didn't buy that product- think of all the money I am saving!".....so I can spend that money on all the other products KZbin is convincing me are PHENOMENAL. 😂

I do like the r.e.m concealer and I have dry undereyes BUT it requires some intense warming up between the fingers and only a thin layer. So it is a bit tricky.

I feel the same exact way about the essence eyeliner! It’s soooo annoying to layer it and it would disappear. I was so disappointed!

So sad you didn’t like the glow recipe sunscreen! I’ve been loving it - hands down my favourite face sunscreen ever and the majority of sunscreens out there bother my skin or don’t sit well under makeup. Sunscreen preference is so personal for sure!

The glow recipe sunscreen did not work for me either !!! I was genuinely so sad because I loveee glow recipe. Not only did it pill and just look oily- it had a scent that for me didn’t dissipate. Even hours after there was this sickly smell that I just couldn’t handle 😭 maybe if they reformulate I’ll try again

I bought it after it was hyped up, same thing!! I couldn’t wait until i finished it. I had to powder my face each time I used it with a little bit of loose powder even though I have dry skin.

I knew the Pacifica bronzer was going to make this list haha.. as for shampoo/conditioner, I pretty much exclusively use Garnier whole blends since they went cruelty free and haven't looked back..

Yeah the Ordinary shampoo was very meh for me. It didn't irritate my scalp, love that it's fragrance free, but the texture of it was weird and it wasn't very cleansing. I can definitely get just a regular drugstore shampoo for a lower price that will work better for my hair.

For the freckle pen, I saw I think it was Jessica vu show how she does her freckles by putting the dots on her finger sporadically and then tapping her finger onto the places she wants them. It looked a lot more natural that way!😊

Nothing related to makeup, but considering the prices for this year i said lets try out something more affordable and that was the Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid, HORRIBLE, it peels of like 2 minutes after applying it and never sinks into the skin ! Bad decision but everybody raves about they're line!

My least favourite product of the year is the NARS Light Reflecting Foundation. I had such high hopes after hearing people rave about it and finding the perfect light olive shade, but it just does not work AT ALL for me. I tried it in so many different ways, but it looks super dry and clings to dry patches I didn't know I had and I can swear it makes my face itch a little. I think that these thin formulas are just not for me, I've never liked a really thin foundation. I told myself I would try it again once more in the New Year, but I honestly might not even do that and declutter it instead 🙈😅

It’s not ideal but I usually take a heavier foundation and mix in a skin tint. I have light-medium neutral olive skin so I usually have to mix colors anyway :/

I can honestly say that I have yet to find a single Pacifica product that I liked or work with my skin tone. Their glow boosting vitamin C serum broke my face out so bad
