Bike Week's Kind of a Bust ║Large Family Vlog │ Summer Break Week 4

This week is "Bike Week;" we plan to build our bike shed and take the kids on a long bike ride. We get the bike shed started, but our bike ride is rained out. Not quite as much bike progress/fun as we'd hoped. We get a package of treats from Australia this week and have fun trying everything with our friends. It's Tom's and my 18th anniversary this week, so we take you along for our anniversary date night.

I had such a hard time getting this video up! In the one scene of my drive home from Dad's house I wanted to play the song Home on the Range. You would think that would be easy, but every version I tried ended up being copyrighted- even though the places I got them from said they weren't! Long story short, I edited and re-edited 4 times, rendered about 8 times and uploaded 4 times before giving up and putting in different music altogether. The final upload (which takes 3-6 hours) wasn't done before our camping trip, so now that we're back home I finally get to post it - 6 days after I first uploaded it! That means I haven't made any progress on the next several videos I'd hoped to have completed by now, too. Slow but sure I'll get them done.

Loved the video..especially date night for your anniversary. May God Bless y'all with many many more...I enjoy watching the kiddos making their own fun & games in the yard. Margaret Bedwell I think one of the best things they do with technology is not restrict the kids to only 30 mins a day, it makes kids want to play on it more, whereas being told you can play on it all day soon becomes boring.

as an australian you all did a great job on the amount of vegemite but just put butter on the bread first 😋we call it "vegemite for beginners" 😂 and if you want throw a stick of butter in a pan, add a teaspoon of vegemite and heat that up till it's liquid then mix it with spaghetti and loads of cheese 👌🏼

That sounds kind of good! The bread we used was already buttered, so I think they had a fair tasting. As you can see, Tom and I are both very picky eaters and it's hard for us to try new things!

Hi Andrea, I was pleasantly surprised to see you had posted a video. Just what I needed on this gloomy Sunday afternoon. So many funny moments today. Sophia just cracked me up when she was talking with the suckers in her mouth. Loved the scenery part too. My niece used to live in New Castle and she had antelope in her yard once when we were out there. Not an animal we have here in MN so they were really neat to see. No, I don't plan to dye my hair. It's something I've thought about, but when it comes down to it, I want to accept myself as I am and not be a person that adds to the collective thought that you're only pretty or valuable if you look like you're twenty-something - or at least try very hard to. One of the most important things in my life is to ask "why." Why must I have a big house if I have a big family? Why can't we eat _all_ kinds of food? etc. When I really started going gray, I thought, _Why must I deny who I am and try to fool people into thinking I'm younger than I am?_ When I really thought about the heart issue of why we do it, it cemented in my mind that I'm going to be real and do my small part to be an example of accepting people for the real them. That's the reason I'm not willing to go on a special diet to try to be thinner than my body wishes to be. I was thin when I was young and now I'm not. That's normal and that's okay. This isn't a condemnation of women who make different choices than I do. I just want it to be okay for myself and others to be real.

I agree with you. I am 48 and only a little grey hair here and there and no intention of dying mine either. I am fortunate enough to be in a family where we all look younger than we are. I don't wear make up either. I have been blessed to have not had acne as a young girl since I kept my face clean and clear of all that stuff I don't see the need for it and also I will admit I wouldn't know what colours to pick or how to apply it. :) THX for replying.

Guys. We LOVE Vegemite in my house! We eat it on bread or toast with butter (the classic) and I'm told a slice of tomato on it is delicious too, but I'm allergic to tomatoes so I can't eat it. Sad times. A smear of it on a cheese sandwich is tasty, and we also like it on pizza (even our Australian friends think that's weird, but it's delicious!) and stirred into soups and stews and casseroles and such (it gives sort of a rich, beefy flavor). Don't give up on it yet! Give it a chance in different ways. Just remember: A tiny bit goes a long way! Especially when you're first getting used to it, use just enough to very lightly color the bread, sorta like this: goo.gl/eUm69Q

We make wine from our grapes sometimes and I have a glass on a very rare occasion. (Every couple of years or so!) Tom has never drank alcohol and he says he doesn't see any good reason to break a perfect record. :)

Marmite is from New Zealand, where I am from originally it is more bitter than Vegemite (a lot people prefer marmite). I now live in Australia and prefer Vegemite I love it !
