She had to go back home, a back case of full-spectrum PTSD, but I remember her railing against who she called that "#^*(in' former soap-salesman" intent on stripping Māori rights". I believe this is exactly why this Haka happened, because the NZ Gov was doing some crappy stuff that even the majority of the population are against. Iirc, it had something to do with making it easier to acquire Maori lands for mining purposes or something like that by, like, re-interpreting an old existing treaty. Someone form NZ can probably explain it in far more detail, so I hope they'll reply and elaborate. But it was definitely a scummy thing and unfair to the Maori people.
