It's nice to hear the open-minded acknowledgement of what we don't know, and the acceptance of change and evolution in low carb diets.

I'm listening to this and remembering my early teen experience trying the Stillman Diet- "The Doctor's Quick Weight Loss Diet" protocols of very high protein leveraging (~64%), very low carbohydrate (~3%), and (~33%) fat. Not sustainable, imho, but definitely had some good premising re the importance of protein leveraging.

Any recent info on bone density on Carnivore/ Low Carb. 81 years old recently fell fractured femur stem behind the Greater Trochanter then hip replacement DEXA two weeks later diagnosed osteoporosis. Been low carb two years than Carnivore six more. Fasted each week for 72 hrs. Should we have DEXA bf embarking?

I eat no plants or carbs and it's NOT hard for me to sustain. If you have weight to lose then the less fat you eat the more fat your body will contribute to your energy consumption. My understanding is that studies show that the more PROTEIN you eat the less calories you consume. Weight loss physicians GENERALLY practice and advocate two tools for weight loss: carb restriction / eliminatiion; and FASTING. UNTIL you reach your desired body fat level, you DON'T need to consume a LOT of dietary fat. When you eliminate carbs and reach your desired body fat level, even if you are high protein, 30 / 35 % to 50 / 65% (short term?), you will still be eating a significant amount of fat. AMINO ACIDS and FATTY ACIDS are ESSENTIAL in humans. Dietary carbohydrates are not essential and the body can make any glucose it has a purpose for from PROTEIN and FAT. Andreas HAS NOT abandoned LOW-CARB, he has an additional insight about HIGH-PROTEIN. COMBINE THE TWO and balance them for yourself as you see fit. They are NOT mutually exclusive.

Diet Doctor is strung with addiction of carbohydrates. For sick or addicts zero carbs is the number. If I eat carbs, my weight explodes

I am disappointed with Andreas. It was your message that truly turned me on. Lo to no carb is not challenging for me. No more greens, along with typical carbs, breads rice, pasta cakes etc for me. I am 76 and a former diabetic. Insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes are still huge. Now my insides are finally settled. I try to eat mostly carnivore, and extra fat with butter and mct oils. I don’t even want the carbs anymore. Having read Christopher Palmer’s book, and listening to Dr. Matt Phillips, my brain and body feels better with the ketones that come with the foods, along with intermittent fasting. The newer research on metabolic health and how it impacts our brain and diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, even anorexia and many more is mind blowing. This is not the diet doctor that turned me on to healing myself.

He is still low carb. As amazing as a low carb approach can be, we’ve all seen many people who don’t do well using it and need something different. Low carb works because of satiety. He is taking that concept and expanding it to help more people.

Do not waste your time. Not a great interview. The host had no objective for the interview. No real learned knowledge here or updates 18 minutes in and I'm out... Please have an objective for interviews! Stating the obisous that we heard over and over ...
