Her grandmother. Her muse. A fabulous artist in her own right. Jazz lover and started Angelina listening to it from a tiny infant. Angelina is considered a music savant. Her grandmother was also a child savant .. she was and still is an amazing painter. The outfit Angelina wore on AGT to sing Bohemian Rhapsody was made up of fabric made out of one of her grandmother's painting. She also taught Angelina to sew, by the way and she makes a lot of her clothes. Her grandmother just recently had to have an operation and it went ok .. but we got to see the fear in Angelina and the grief and passion she felt for her grandmother .. so this little piece before the song made us all cry. What a great technical analysis of what it is that Angelina does to capture everyone’s heart with her singing. I’ve viewed many other reactions to this and other Angelina songs, but yours is the best I’ve seen so far, thank you for that. My summary of this song is Adele is a master to conceive and write the song, but Angelina is a genius at how to interpret it. As I’m no expert all I can say is Angelina’s voice speaks to me personally, I feel it not just hear it, it’s such a warm and intimate experience and most welcoming, like an old friend. I get the feeling she’s not deliberately doing all those things you mentioned, she just intuitively knows what to do, when and for what effect. In my opinion she is destined to become possibly the greatest female vocalist of all time, not because she’s technically superior, but because she conveys such emotion and touches your soul with her voice, it’s almost spiritual in nature. Wet eyes are hard to avoid when listening to her, and that’s a common viewpoint so all those thousands of people can’t be wrong! An exceptional artist of that there is no doubt! Was going to suggest you react to Morrisette Amon as she is one of a very few female singers who manages to get a similar reaction from me as Angelina does with her voice, and Dimash but I see you beat me to it from your playlist! What a wonderfully detailed comparative analysis. For me it is hands down Angelina who is better. I made a mashup of the two, and listening to them both over and over as I edited it it was very clear to me that Angelina had a richer, more varied and textured sound, but it was hard to put into words exactly what she was doing to achieve that. You have done so very, very well; thank you. One thing I would add is that Angelina often puts in little breaks, turning one syllable into two, and that's another bit of variation she gives to the song. You can really see how she makes use of her jazz roots.

Let me preface my following comments by saying that comparing artists is not my cup of tea. Each artist performs with their distinct style and I may enjoy listening to one more than another. In this case, when asked which version do I enjoy the most, Angelina, hands down. You explained why to me but my opinion was based on the emotion Angelina added to the song. I was thrilled to hear your expert analysis of the differences in their styles. Adele is what, 29?, and is respected as perhaps the most famous singer in the world. And Angelina certainly respects her (particularly the music she writes!). Angelina is 16 now and in the industry she already has been given the unofficial label as a "singer's singer." Quite a compliment. And, Andreas (btw my next door neighbors name!), Angelina hasn't been officially marketed to the world yet (family decision) because she continues with her education for a while longer and, believe it or not, enjoy life as a teenage girl until the wraps are taken off and her career goes full blast. I don't know how many video's of Angelina you have reacted to but I would like to see and hear more from you about her. In fact, here's something I WOULD LOVE YOU TO REACT TO: There is a video of Angelina singing two versions of 'My Funny Valentine' on the same video. The biggest difference to me is the vulnerability Angelina's version portrays. She invokes the desire to actually "go easy" on her because she is vulnerable but still trying to do the right thing. I don't get that from Adele, who seems to be past that and moving on, while not really asking for anything. I really enjoyed this comparison and that surprised me. I don't usually like to make comparisons b/c they are so subjective. This one seemed to have a more objective valuation based on technique and style choices.

OMG! This was the best break-down of Angelina's vocals I have ever seen. The easiest subscription ever :-) In my opinion there has never been a shred of a doubt as to which voice I like more between the two. Angelina all day. I even liked Angelina's TikTok cover of this song better than the original, and she dropped that one just in a matter of HOURS after Adele dropped her single. That shows me (us? ) what of an incredible musical genius Angelina really is. I would really like to thank you for the time and effort you put into this, it's VERY much appreciated. I think you would LOVE to her her new rendition of "My Funny Valentine", which she dropped on Valentine's Day February 10th. Angelina turned 16 on January 10th, so she had probably just turned 16 at the time of recording. I say NEW rendition because she also made a rendition exactly 6 years earlier, at age 10. Listening to the two back to back shows you perfectly how she has developed. You can hear what she wanted to do at age 10, that her voice was just not yet capable of, but that she flawlessly and apparently effortlessly pulled off at age 16. I have been following Angelina since she won Norway's Got Talent in 2014, at the age of 7-8, and I think that this is the most beautiful she has ever done. Great analysis and comparison! I think the difference between the Adele's and Angelina's comes down to the phrase "I was just a child". For Adele that was years ago and she is having to recall something (perhaps quite) distant. She is singing the song as an adult with intention and determination. She is not really asking for forgiveness. Thus her very determined musical choices, which are more like telling the listener, "this is how it is". For Angelina, she is still a child, so it truly is a plea. I'm convinced that Angelina chooses songs which she can internalize and can create a personal narrative. Then she structures her musical choices around that.

Yes, I totally agree. Adele is an accomplished pop singer and writes wonderful songs, (for Angelina to sing). I think Angelina has a much larger tool box of technical ability than Adele's, which enhances her performances from Adele's (and anyone else's) great performance to Angelina's flawless and spectacular performance....IMHO ❤🌹

Adele is a wonderful songwriter - what a beautiful song that inspired so many to cover it. And of course power vocals and a lovely person. But Angelina brings the heart & soul which has always lacked for me from Adele. Someone in the comments used the word 'clinical' and that's as good a word as any. The beautiful lyrics have always made me feel the song, but Angelina's voice makes me feel it even if I didn't understand the words.

In answer to your question, that was her grandmother, Mery Zamani, with her in the first part of the video. They have a very special relationship. As good as this cover is, Angelina's latest (and 3rd) cover of "My Funny Valentine" shows even further development as an artist and is a stunning master class in jazz singing. The audio is obviously studio audio, but it's an IG upload with a self-made video in which she is not singing. @@andreasgrussl BTW, in an analysis of an earlier song, another vocal coach studied her vibrato and noted that Angelina covered three semi-tones when most vibratos usually only vary one semi-tone. I don't have either a sufficiently discriminating ear or the equipment to check out her vibrato in other songs, but found this observation to be quite interesting.

I've listened to several hundred vocal coach reactions and they each analyze the song in a fairly technical but relaxed way, which is nice. You eventually learn quite a bit about head voice, chest voice, larynx, having a relaxed jaw, fry, runs, etc.. What I enjoyed about your reaction was that you were different. A bit more precise and you edited the song to show examples of different techniques the singer is using. A great way to show us and yet you still show your enjoyment of the song. Great editing! It makes your critique memorable and enjoyable to listen to. You're up there among the top best vocal coaches on KZbin. There's only a small handful of vocal coaches that are really, really good and enjoyable at the same time. You're among them. I happily subscribed and gave a thumb's up.

Yes! With respect to Adel, I found Angelina's version of " Easy On Me " better than Adel's! More meaningful, more deeper, more softer but darker, more effective and with much much better interpretation of the lyric. I like Adele and think she is a wonderful "singer" and she wrote a very nice song that when she sings it, it's just a song. I'm sub'd on your channel and can't wait for more. PLEASE DO Angelina's 1st original release next, "Million Miles" from Republic Records where she got signed at age 14. Not only did she wright this song at 14 years old, but it was in memory of her Grandfather who had just died. it will just melt your heart. Also her latest release is called 7th Heaven, which she also wrote, and it's very jazzy which shows she's sticking to her roots and developing her own distinct style. I believe we must support this talented girls present and budding career and promote not only what she's done but to promote and introduce her original work as well.
