Any provisional tax you pay REDUCES your annual tax that you submit on your ITR12. There's no double tax involved.

The problem with that advice is that if you don't submit a tax return, you can't be eligible for a refund. My advice is as soon as you start earning an income, it's better to submit a tax return than not.

The question should be better stated: It's basically asking, how many times in the tax year were you unemployed. So if you were unemployed for an entire 5 months, that's still only one unbroken period

Don't do anything that means Sars has filed your return already you just need to wait for a refund if there is one due to you

No I disagree. You must still check if the return is correct. SARS can hold you personally liable if you simply accept their assessment and it turns out to be wrong.

Hi Andre If i didn't receive my 2020 unemployment payments until 2021 because of a delay in the process and I already filed my 2020 taxes should I use the 1099G and amend the 2020 taxes or does it go on the 2021 taxes? If I want the tax free $10K in unemployment benefits I'm thinking I need to amend my 2020 taxes with this 1099G??
