Over the past couple of years, Pokimane has essentially become KZbin's copyright Karen. By taking down videos and going after people's sponsors, she's turned a lot of people against her, and in today's video we have to take a look at how it all happened, and what it all means.

I think streaming and making videos are equally exhausting but with making videos, you need to do a ton of preparations in advance + editing the videos after (unless you have an editor which cuts down the work significantly). In the case of streaming, you need to consistently be live multiple times a week at a set period of time so you can gather loyal viewers. They come for content but stay for consistency. Even if you have past broadcast, it’s rare for people to actually wanna watch more than 5 mins of your past streams. That means for live streamers, even if you don’t feel like it, you need to force yourself to stick to your schedule (same standards applies to show /anime reactors). For KZbinrs, I have seen KZbinrs gain a ton of subs for the quality content they make. While the prep is a LOT more work than streaming, some KZbinrs can still make it big even if they post once or twice a month. So I guess it really depends on your circumstances.

The current state of KZbin is so disappointing. They keep removing useful features like Polls and (commenting, saving to playlists, and watching in mini player) for “child oriented” content. Copyright claiming is a joke. It’s used to silence unpopular opinions, and take down unfavourable content, even when everything being said is 100% true. Plus it is Heavily waited in-favour of the accuser, who can essentially steal your money on practically non-existent ground, with little to no repercussions. High quality content that takes longer to make is buried under piles of easy to produce garbage. It doesn’t help that KZbin is so secretive about it’s back-end. KZbin’s algorithm is incredibly good at maximizing Watch Time, but is vary bad at censorship and demonetization. And when people rely on KZbin as their primary source of income, that is just unacceptable.
