The extra fan in the dock is very LIKELY to drive air toward the intakes of the device when it's in the dock, since the intakes will have limited access to open air. When docked, the fan inside of the device itself will still provide the actual SOC cooling, but will now be drawing a lot more (and cooler air) into the device than the original Switch design could ever allow.

The most exciting aspect for me has got to be the boost in power the Nintendo Switch 2 will have. @@shanestevick679 It's hardware in docked is more in line with that of the PS4 Pro, Xbox One X and Xbox Series S. Basically just around that level. Although we have a better estimate of how it'll perform in docked than handheld since handheld will get downclocked even more and all.

I hope the U shaped kickstand isn't really flimsy. Maybe it's a thicker piece of plastic than the one on Switch OLED, or made of metal... I don't use the kickstand very often anyway, but would be an odd regression from the Switch OLED design. Even the Switch OLED one has a great mechanism, but the thickness of the actual plastic is a little flimsy too haha. It is odd seeing so many of these leaks, I assume Nintendo is just kind of ignoring them because they are laser-focused on announcing when they feel are ready for their proper rollout. My guess would be they have a load of software content to show and want to make sure all the games/trailers are in the right state before they reveal this thing.

That April-March slot would also be wayy more profitable for them with Easter and the Japanese Golden Week holidays following shortly after, giving them really strong opening sales that’ll then carry over into those holiday periods. If this is true, Nintendo has finally turned the corner, and will never find themselves in a situation that consoles like N64, GameCube and Wii U put them into. The Switch logo, sound and name are iconic in culture now, more so than Wii even was. To continue with Switch 2, 3 etc, is the best thing they can do. It’s now up there with iPhone, Galaxy phone and PlayStation for naming power. The hybrid model clearly works with Switch making more money than all other consoles they ever made combined. If they pump out high quality games as regularly as Switch had, they will strike gold again.

I keep saying this in other places but, if it looks the same, it's because nintendo is following through with their statement of it being an iteration instead of something completely new. Think of the ds going to dsi. Minus a few things and a ui update, the dsi looked pretty damn near similar to some models of the ds. That's considered an iteration. Going to the 3ds was kind of an iteration as well. It was still a ds. What was the 3ds (especially when the slider was turned off 95% of the time) but a dsi with a second camera?

I don’t believe it at all. There are too many weird elements to the story that don’t add up, like the story about Christmas. There are just a lot of strange story flourishes that take away all credibility. And none of the console manufacturers are using hall thumb sticks. MK9 would be a terrible launch title. Have you read Reggie's book? There he explains that Nintendo knows it's the most hardcore who are early adopters. That's why the Wii U with NSMBU was a failure, despite being a sequel to a great seller, that was released later on on its hardware, and went all to sell a lot over the years, as more and more casuals got in. The only good launch title for Switch 2 would be 3D Mario. I would hate MK9 as a launch title, I would skip that launch.

I don't doubt Nintendo has been sitting on MK9 for years, MK8DX DLC were definitely not made by the main team or at least not at full capacity, I don't doubt MK9 will launch a couple of weeks after but please not day one. Because I have to doubt Nintendo would do MK9+ another big game on launch day, so I'm assuming it would be MK9 only, and that would suck. Imagine getting a new next gen console, the biggest leap for Nintendo in over 10 years, and the only crap you can play on it is dumb Mario Kart.
