I almost fell under the table, my mind scrambled for ways to save him. Everyone said in shock and surprise "WHY????". He paused and looked at each one of us, and with a big smile he said, " My number came up and Nixon abolished the draft. If it weren't for him I'd be dead!". Happy Thaksgiving was had by all. The racist slur is very interesting. Just about every single one of my Hispanic friends will notify me of "racism" and once I explain it to them they laugh and say that I am right that it's not racist at all. I also point out that there is a backlash to being called racist for holding an idea and that backlash creates racist feelings in people otherwise not racist. So the more liberally they call ideas and policy racist the more fuel they throw on the real racism. My Hispanic friends get it. Now, when I talk to my white friends... I can spot them within a few words into our conversation. I've met too many white, somewhat well off (although this is the case I don't necessarily think it's a condition for this brand of thinking), liberal individuals who harbor radical hate. Their hate stems from either a desire for moral superiority or just plain hate. I don't think I have ever been able to explain that strict immigration laws in Arizona are common sense for our Nation and not racist to one of these white liberals. Sometimes they are pretty knowledgeable but if they are it's almost always on just one topic and one side of that topic. I like to ask these people if their created enemies have any good qualities. For example I will ask them to tell me something good that Trump wants to do for people like them and I. This s the only headway I make and even then it's countered with "no good comes of a sexist bigot". Still I like to shed light on the bullet points for the Justice Department and all the good work they are presently doing to clean up our country. I also like to point out the violent porn industry and it's growth during the Obama presidency due to his Justice Department.

nixon WON the vietnam war! the whole point of kennedy's sending volunteers there was to force the communist north to agree to STOP ATTACKING THE SOUTH and STAY in the north. in spite of LBJ's fucking up by drafting kids to send over there- so against huge opposition from draft age students , nixon finally managed to get a peace agreement from the north, allowing troops to withdraw from vietnam. however the north got resupplied by the soviet union and broke it's agreement right after nixon was forced from office then democrat congress cut off military supplies to the beleagured south.
