If these are twice as good as the debut bookshelves, as their price suggests, then we're in for a real treat. God I hope they are!

Very nice job with the B5s and B6s. You've achieved something very few designers manage to achieve at a moderate price and that is... balance. It's a rare quality in speakers where all of the elements come together in the right proportions. The result is musicality, naturalness and low listener fatigue (a seldom talked about but pervasive problem). Your Elac shoe boxes possess this quality of balance like few others at low or even higher price points... and that is an accomplishment.

Thank god for this man. I would never be interested in pursuing a great audio system and upgrading my audio gear if it weren't for the few companies and people like him putting out actually great equipment with value in mind. I'm glad that he is using all his talent and experience towards designing equipment for the masses and not just those who are willing to spend thousands and thousands of dollars.

I'm thinking about an Elac bookshelf pair with an existing polk sub that I have. I need a two channel receiver with a sub out, something budget friendly, I'd like Bluetooth, any suggestions? I only need to plug in an existing CD player.

Thank you for your words, Mr. Jones. It's truly difficult: people may come to your come, listen to your system, they think it's pretty cool, even if they are not hearing everything the system is putting out yet (good listening is a trained skill after all). But when they ask how much it would cost them to recreate that sound, or at least close to it... they smile, and say the system is really nice but in the end, they'll stick to their in-ears and PC speaker system. But it sure it is a nice sounding system. And in that very moment, instead of getting interested in stereo, they loose whatever interest they may have had. Instead of thinking, hmm, I could totally save up for that, that would be a great investment they say, damn, well, maybe if one day my account is overflowing. Nobody is going to save up 7k for a nice sounding system without first having acquired a good ear for music and subtle details. And with the usual budget offerings, they never will. So I must say I am terribly excited to see what you are doing, got a chance to listen to the debuts and I was blown away. I honestly did not expect that good. I mean, damn, if THAT was on offer when I started my journey I would have been overjoyed. Instead, I endured a ton of frustration on my search for good sound, I learned all about the audio industry, I learned and learned and also got more and more frustrated because it became clear to me that in some way, my love for not just music but good audio reproduction was being exploited. Like, "how much money can we make out of this guys love for this?". So for 500 bucks you get pretty disappointing speakers and pretty disappointing stereo amps and you have spent a thousand bucks for a system that says, "if you actually wanna have fun and a semblance of actual HiFi, prepare you wallet." So again, I am very grateful for what you are doing. The only slight downer: in Europe the offering is not quite as good as in the US. The B6, in the US fair the great price of $280, is a pretty hefty hiked €400. That made me pretty sad when I saw it :-\

Most Pioneers Amps Receivers does not support 4 ohms speakers but these Elac Uni-fy are 4 ohms. I have a Pioneer LX52 that does only 6-8 ohms and just ordered a pair of these Elac 4 ohms bookshelves speakers. Should I cancel the order and find a 6-8 ohms speakers instead?

Shane Lindsay did you get them yet?
@MrWslindsay8 жыл бұрын
Yes I did. Back in July. They're broken in now and I like them a lot. Their strong point is imaging. You place instruments and vocals from left to right really well. Highs are slightly rolled off. Mid-range is nice...not too laid back or too far forward. The lows are great for a 5.25 woofer. Kind of blew my mind at first. I don't understand why so many people say they are too light in the bass department. Not my experience at all. They do need to be out from the wall though and the soundstage doesn't extend too far beyond the speakers themselves. Other than that, they're great. They have a softer presentation than some speakers which can help listening for longer periods of time. ☺️

I don't understand, if human hearing can only hear 20k Hz then why take it to 25 - 30k Hz ???
@1mykalfury8 жыл бұрын
+Kenneth Jensen The ear absorbs the sounds or cycles (HZ) above 20 HZ but realizes it as a real world sound effects, almost subliminal as the above 20 HZ sound is within the spectrum. May add realism in a way that you can't put your finger on. But, it's there in real life everyday, so your brain does recognize it.
@impulsivedesigns8 жыл бұрын
He stated that many tweeters have rolled off a bit by 20k Hz. These tweeters extend to 30, but point of them is that they have no rolloff at the 20k range that the human ear can hear.

30k....??????????😕😟😟😟😟😟.....did they teach me something wrong in my med school or Mr. Jones has developed special hearing capabilities....???????? Human ear cannot catch frequency beyond 20k even at teenage years, down the lane 30-40 years age which most of the buyers are , 18k hearing is the best a normal human can do. Anyways, cheers from India 👍🏽👍🏽
@topspin4hand2 жыл бұрын
Good question. No, in another video he says it's not because we can hear beyond 20k but because designing a tweeter than can do 30k improves the performance at 20k.
