As an early adopter of the Omni Channel, I'm glad that my impression of it came through: It's the plugin that keeps giving! It's on sale now for $29 and it's a, 'Hell Yeah' easy decision buying decision. What can't come thru on the YT vid is how really SWEET the EQ is and the endless flexibilities you get with four deessers, like removing unwanted string slides or low end podcast desk noises and on and on. You got a glimpse of how much there is under the hood, but until you play with it, you just don't realize how much good stuff can be so flexible. WARREN: Yes, that was JUST what I wanted to see from Schepps. Thank you for making it happen and available!

Andrew is one of, if not the most, generous people in Audio today. He takes a lot of his time to help us struggling mixers improve our lot. He once answered a question of mine about using a macro to manually de-ess - going step by step through building the macro, and what program he used. Truly a mensch! Also, a monster at his craft. And the Omni Channel has forever changed and improved my workflow and mix quality.

Alright Warren, James here, from sunny old England. By far the best music production series ever made. The Soundgarden video with Michael Beinhorn was epic. Next one with Foo Fighters 'Evermore' was brilliant. Now this one with Andrew Schepps also. Amazing stuff. All free might I add. You learn a lot more from these Warren, than you do spending hundreds of pounds to watch other videos that contain less information . Absolutely brilliant. Watched every video on your channel a dozen times. This new series is next level. Just getting better and better. P.S If you know of anyone in the London area that needs a helping hand in their studio, I will work for free. Can do everything and anything that needs doing. Was thinking of a series that unearths all the great but forgotten British bands of the 60's/70's and talks about the albums we all love. Think Spooky Tooth and talking to Mike Harrison. Think Family and talking to Roger Chapman. Would be epic to find Mark Hollis of Talk Talk fame and fleece him of information about the Color Of Spring album. I could go on forever. All on a level like these videos your doing lately. Totally brilliant Warren. Take it easy.

Thanks Warren and Andrew. I just bought the Scheps channel for $29 and I'm playing with it now. I've been trying to accomplish the same mash up of plugin parts from another manufacturer and was ending up with three or four different plugins with each doing just a bit. So far it seems like the omni channel is just that. Now...if I could just get the preamp, filters, compressors, and EQ into a single hardware unit. ;) Side note: The Nugen plugin video led me to a set of lectures that Andrew had regarding streaming services and codec quality. I really appreciate the open sharing that you two provide.

I started music production in early 2020 and have amassed lots of plugins. This Black Friday I stumbled upon this Scheps plugin on sale, HIGHLY recommended on Reddit. It's now inserted on just about every track, including the master. It's madness. The low end that (you talk about) now comes to life with this plugin. That +4 DB on the kick really is magical. Overall, it's the best plugin I've ever used. Thanks for the quick mixing walk through with Scheps himself, I learned a lot.

So, this was interesting. When the interview started, Andrew was surprisingly restrained or just tired from the flight. Usually with Andrew it's like ... you ask one question and get an 20 minute super helpful answer... it took some time until he was on course here. ;) Interesting that Waves is obviously pushing the Omni Channel one year after its release (as Graham on the Recording Revolution published a video about the plugin at the same time). Anyway, seeing Warren and Andrew in the same room speaking about music is amazing by design. And by the way ... having Andrew coming into your studio to mix your song on the fly ...lucky you ;)
@weenss5 жыл бұрын
yes! i thought the same thing. was just about to comment until i saw your comment....... he seems pretty disinterested, preoccupied and almost trying desperately to show a 'face' of sorts at the beginning interview section, almost as if he was thinking "this is the last thing i wanted to do today, but let's try paint on a smile, pimp my plugin and get this over with" haha. An incredibly accomplished guy tho, and was great to see him do his thing with the mix
