He was inspirational to so many. He was the first to admit that this was more manageable for him due to his wealth and the great insurance he had and could afford, BUT was always cognizant of others who had the same devastating injury but didn't have the means he did. I won't forget that humility in him and his courage which inspired so many others.

Misfortune happens to most people to a degree. It's too bad he had to bear misfortune on this level. Everyone who rides falls at some point, but in this way, very seldom. And it wore on his body & psyche as time went on. It came to a natural conclusion, sadly.

It's amazing Chris could joke about his injury. His accident occured on my birthday of all things 05/27. When our bodies wear out...we get another one. RIP 'Toph
@TrunksXV3 ай бұрын
Looking back on this interview, Chris was about half right in his role as Superman. If he didn’t have his accident and the studio was still interested in making another feature, a Kingdom Come adaptation would’ve been the way to go. But the accident robbed us fans of that possibility. We didn’t get everything, but what Christopher did provide for the character was second to none. And he will always be identified as quite possibly the definitive Superman on film. 🎥

Much as its sad.... It was sth that happened to him.. And to be honest...it wasnt easy not to feel his pain.. To try to relate even without experiencing it as he did. . It also helped him connect more with the world.. To ring in to our hearts.. To b part of us... Was so sad to see him like this but in a way at least we got to see him at his zenith... As a person.. As a man... As SUPERMAN!!!!!

Yes he is right about the vision thing. In the first series of Star Trek back in the 1960´s they used "Communicators" to converse with one another, today 50 years later they are called cellphones.

Amazing all the hundreds of billions of dollars sitting in rich people's bank accounts that could be used to help people in medical need . Christopher said that his insurance company would not pay for a back up respirator costing $3600 , and he paid for one himself , but many people in his position couldn't afford to and were dicing with death.
@ReturnOfTheJ.D.4 жыл бұрын
The rich donate and then get tax breaks from that. They might donate $10 million to a local nursing school for example. When that happens, the tax office aren't going to look much into your affairs, because the government could never provide that kind of funding. As they don't pay tax on that $10 million of income, it's like a $5.5 million donation in reality. Instead of paying the government, they pay recognised charities. If those huge donations didn't buy someone a few years of protection from the government asking for more tax, people would stop making those donations, meaning those organisations would be asking for more money from the governemtn to make up the shortfall. As a result, the tax office backs off. Nobody wants to hinder the chance at getting money for free, even the tax office.

Would have been interesting to pose the question to him if he would've supported recreating himself as Superman in CGI, like they have now done for characters in the last Blade Runner and Ghostbusters movies.

But then he wouldn't have inspired so many with his fine brain and heart. Also, he actually had to consent to the operation. And he thought about it and spoke with his wife. And he decided to live because his children needed him. A wonderful man! And then Robin Williams turned up and made him laugh before he went into the operation for which he had a 50/50 chance of survival.

Very sad that so many souls don't believe, nor have, a personal relationship with Christ Jesus. Instead, they actually believe this life is all there is.
