It was much easier to get away with it back then because of signals being analog also I think the statue of limitation for hijacking a broadcast is around seven years or at least back then it was so in the 90s everyone involved with it could have revealed that they did it and they couldn't be arrested the only thing that probably would have happened is being sued by the two stations they hijacked and while I do wish they would reveal themselves at the same time them keeping the mystery alive for so long is why it's the most famous broadcast hijack of all time
@FiveCentsPlease Жыл бұрын
@isolateddirectorofficial Somebody wrote that they think they knew who the person was based on his speech patterns and mannerism. And at that time, there were very few people who knew how to hack into broadcast signals. But I don't think the person was ever officially identified.

Given that he was singing the "Clutch Cargo" theme right before, and "Seeing the X" refers to the last episode of the show. The Wikipedia page on this incident mentions this as well. Regardless, This video is awesome. It's fun to see what people could do back when televisions had such limited technology, that they were child's play to mess around with.

Kaegan McDonald hilariously, most people chalk acid up to some crazy-inducing, jump out of windows , lose your fucking mind type of drug. so far from the truth =/

This happened on November 22nd, 1987---30 years ago today. Tip your Kek hats and shot glasses to one of the OG trolls, peeps.

I'd rather see this than 99% of the stupid PSA's they shove in our faces on TV

Very scary, and during a Tom Baker episode! If I were alive during this time, I most likely would've been watching this and then probably would have crapped my pants.

DoctorWhoBAMF Exactly. It's almost sacrilegious to defile any Tom Baker episode. He is, and always will be, my favorite Doctor.

The fact this happened on a Doctor Who re-run of a serial which aired 10 years before is the funniest thing to me…

@pronto35511 жыл бұрын
Sure, we do NOW But this came out in 1987 and people forget that the internet was still in its infancy and almost a decade before facebook, twitter, online chatrooms, personal webpages etc and where that ability did exist we certainly didn't have it wasted by every arsehole with an opinion spouting their gibberish Because of all the current media forums today, we tend to forget what would have been required to pull off a stunt like this so like I said, this was a wasted opportunity

ULTIMATENINJA1984 Either way, what's the harm in pretending that it is him? It actually COULD be him, and if not, it's a very clever commenter who deserves to have a little fun. I like to cling to the possibility that I am talking to the actual legend at work here, no matter how remote the chances. I am sure the real guy would look online to see what people are saying about it.

Whoever did this picked one of the worst Tom Baker episodes to do it, so I suppose we should be grateful for that.
