Paper towels and air compressor to clean tanks. Wicked!
@VoklstWestie5 жыл бұрын
I gerry-rigged a long skinny piece of steel for lighting matches for tall candles in glass holders that would work for this also but the compressed air is aerating the water as it cleans also! But hed need my magic steel stick to get the paper towels back.out or what my dad & I called a 'polish ass grabber'. I'm 1/2 polish so its ok! A spring loaded grappling stick, you put the stick in the hole, press the button at other end, several grappling strips of steel come out, grab item you want, let go of spring,pull stick out. Comes in hand for keys in short drain pipes of parts falling into the engine well also. I have no idea what this tools actual name is!

Only a suggestion to another great " brought back from the dead" I have pulled a couple wave runners out of the deep six here on the Delta, only thing I have done different is I purchased a soda cleaner to clean the crust of external parts and spent a little more time with the impeller and housing. The difference between 2 tigersharks 1 just cleaned out and thrown back together and the 2nd one I spent about 4 extra hours on Impeller and corrosion on external parts with the soda blaster was about 12 mph speed on the water. Not critiquing your work just inputting another idea that might help in your restorations. I totally enjoy watching ever video you make. I'm 69 and have slowed down , but still love fixing things others throw away.... My newest project is an old JD 310 backhoe loader, caught fire and all the pins on the backhoe and front bucket are shot over 1/2 in of slop in bushings... TG for my mini excavator as a crane to lift and hold those heavy control arms . Anyway Andrew keep on just as you are, hope you have a family in future to keep your great legacy multiplying

That's not an impact driver. It's just an electric screw driver with a clutch. It just sounds like an impact tool. All it's doing is slipping/pulsing when the torque gets high because that's usually when the head of the screw is entering the material, so you want everything to turn slow so you don't bury the screw head in the material.

Should make yourself a bearing Press Andrew 😳 And invest in a cheap bead blaster. Great video😁👍
@rogerd45595 жыл бұрын
beating bearings in with a hammer makes them last 2 months If your going to do that beat them in on the outer race! You flatten the balls in the bearing that way eventally causing crumbling of the ball bearings and disaster.... at sea

For the love of God, use some Never Seize and Grease, if I were rebuilding that thing all the moving parts would be swimming in grease.

where did that jet ski come from? salvage? did he dredge it up,abandonned? was it free? Your right though Never seize saved me hours of having to cut the aluminum prop off my mercury outboard when the rubber hub went bad. Was the first time I was introduced to Never Sieze, still have the same can from 1968

Props to ya on gettin it ta run !!! You can't beat the price if you have the time ...I have an old SLX780 that looks beautiful in my garage that I abandon years ago because of the positioning of the gas filler cap positioning...I don't know what some of these manufacturers were thinking back in the day but they positioned the gas fill tube down low on the watercraft by where the craft meets water. THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO TAKE ON WATER IN SOME FASHION OVER TIME IN THE GAS TANK FROM WATER SPLASHING OVER THE FRONT OF THE WATERCRAFT.I had replaced caps,tanks,fuel lines twice thinking there was an issue with my fuel system but not really so...just a design flaw on the watercraft.I then bought a used Seadoo where filler is up high on watercraft and believe it or not 15 years later I still own and run it with no fuel issues.Water in fuel can really be your biggest enemy sometimes.
